Becoming A Tech Tycoon Begins With Regression novel Chapter 120

Chapter 120: Fired

Fired?

Victor’s mind struggled to comprehend how that had happened. Until yesterday, he was sure he’d be getting a promotion just after successfully acquiring that building from María’s hand.

And he was sure she only needed a little push and he was going to give that push today.

Yet, not only did he not get the chance to make his move, he had also lost his job alongside those two idiots, Anthony and Melissa.

In desperate attempt to save their asses, those two had completely dumped all the blame on him, and they had spouted every single action they had taken to ’acquire’ the buildings from their desperate owners.

Unfortunately, the new owner didn’t care about the information they gave as the three had been asked to leave the company.

Speaking of their new owner, his presentation had been nothing but unexpected.

Victor never expected the company to have been sold this fast especially since they were doing extremely well.

He hadn’t expected to lose his job today and most certainly, he hadn’t expected the new owner to be sitting behind a cartoon character.

But even with how comical the avatar looked, the three immediately understood how dangerous the man behind it was.

First, it seemed he had every single information on everyone in the board room, not only information that had to do with the company.

This got everyone immediately docile before him.

How did he know so much? They had no idea.

But even more dangerous was the fact that no one else knew anything about him.

Not his identity, what he does or even who he was... They knew nothing yet he knew everything about them.

When Victor finally realized that there was no escape from him being fired, he tried to take down a couple of executives with him but a simple question from the new owner shut him up.

"Do you have proofs for your claims, Mr Carroway?" The avatar asked.

At first, Victor was pretty confident that he did. He wasn’t an idiot, he had made sure to record every conversation between him and any of the executives and he had planned to use it as blackmail material to push himself up the coperate ladder, maybe even get the CEO voted out and replaced by himself.

And every single material was on his phone and backed up in his cloud, completely protected by the new software that just released.....

Sentinel.

So there was absolutely no way anything would happen to them...right?

The moment the words left his mouth, the board members immediately started shifting uncomfortably in their seats.

One of them stood up, about to say something but was immediately cut off by the avatar on the screen, "I advise you sit down, Mr Extra."

It was pronounced, Egstrag but the man with the strange last name didn’t dare argue and just sat back down1.

Nervous sweat started pooling under their suits as Victor Carroway took out his phone.

But unfortunately, his misfortunes had just started and he would realize it soon.

Ethan leaned back, completely relaxing against an old gaming chair he had bought back when he was here.

María had made sure all the stuff he left behind stayed intact and he really appreciated that.

So far, he had been having a lot of fun messing with the trio.

Of course he knew Victor would try to at least drag one of the board members down with him so he had ordered Athena to collect and clear every single blackmail material the three possessed.

And surprisingly, Victor used Sentinel to secure his devices.... The same Sentinel that Ethan and Athena had complete control over.

It might be a breach of client trust, sure—but it wasn’t like Victor paid for the premium package anyway.

"Athena," he called out, "let’s move to the next step."

{Right away,} Athena replied and immediately got to work.

The three losing their jobs was only step one, what was to come would be the real payback for threatening Marìa.

  • Well, it's strange cuz I just made it up 😅
