"So what you’re saying is," the reaper said, "you couldn’t find her?"
He currently stood in an office with floor to ceiling glass, looking at the city below him with a displeased expression on his face.
He was currently speaking to one of his men tasked with finding Lillian before OmniTech found a way to take her out of China.
Which he didn’t intend on letting happen.
But all their search turned out to be useless, as not a single trace of her or even the group that rescued her was found.
They even tried checking the camera’s of places that surrounded the mansion but nothing was found. All the cameras were clean, without anything suspicious shown on the tape and no sign of tampering.
It was like they were completely invisible, and just vanished into thin air after they were done.
But Jian wasn’t frustrated, not in the least bit. He knew they were still in China, and one way or the other, he’d find them.
"Keep searching," he said before pulling the phone away from his ears, still looking at the city.
He and Madam Xu had long discovered the reason why OmniTech was able to find the place, despite how hidden they were.
Turns out the back door to sentinel wasn’t really a back door....well, it was but for a decoy version.
One that would tell whoever was controlling the systems, exactly where the person accessing it was from.
It was an obvious trick, but it worked. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
It worked so well, that the two didn’t realize a thing until it was too late and Lillian was gone.
Jian hated how much he had been fooled, he hated that his instincts had been right, yet he chose to ignore them, because of greed.
OmniTech had made a fool of him and he wasn’t going to let it go.
Tap. Tap. Tap.
The sound of tapping was heard just behind him causing him to quickly turn around. He was supposed to be completely alone right now, but when he turned around he realized he wasn’t.
He couldn’t quite make out the figure ’s features but he was sure someone was there, judging by the outline.
And also the fact that the person was still tapping. The person was currently seated in his office chair, calmly tapping the armrest.
Not even one of his guards could have breached his office without triggering something.
This entire floor was only accessible if he permitted it, and yet, the person before him didn’t seem to have any trouble getting in.
His hand slowly moved towards his gun’s holster.
"Relax," the stranger said, voice was completely calm, educated even, yet oddly clinical. "If I wanted you dead, we wouldn’t be talking."
Jian squinted, letting his eyes adjust. The figure leaned forward in his chair, a brief flash of light revealed his head full of silver hair, before darkness swallowed him again, drowning him in shadow again.
"Who the hell are you?" Jian demanded, though, the man in the chair didn’t miss the caution in his tone. "How did you get in here?"
"Sit," the stranger added. This time, It wasn’t a request.
Slowly Jian followed the order and took a seat opposite the stranger, his work desk between them.
"Are you OmniTech?" Was the first thing he asked.
After all, there was only one person who could have infiltrated his office this effortlessly and might currently want him dead.
"OmniTech?" The repeated sounding almost amused. "No. Though I find it unflattering you’d put me in the same league, I’m a lot worse than the man behind a company that’s still in its infancy... but I guess you wouldn’t know that."
He leaned forward slightly, folding his hands atop the desk looking directly at Jian, though the shadows didn’t allow the expression on his face to be revealed.
"Though you could say I’m here for your war with OmniTech," the man continued. "The truth is, I’m here for you, Reaper....or should I say, Wang Jia or Jian Long ?"
"Honestly, you have so many names that it sometimes gets confusing."
Jian frowned as the stranger just started listing names he had used before, even if only just once in his life.
"How do you know this?" He asked.
"I know a great many things about you." The stranger said, "but how I do is not important right now, what’s important is your answer to my question."
"Do you want to be saved from your coming demise?"
