Becoming A Tech Tycoon Begins With Regression novel Chapter 200

Chapter 200: Weren’t Pistols Supposed To Go Bang?

"The game is simple," Victor said with a wide smile, "step one, how about we drop the avatar and show your real face?"

He was enjoying this, so very much. Especially given the fact that the collector had doubted his plan.

He was going to prove that, unlike his son, he was not a man to be underestimated. He was going to make the collector swallow his words.

"Well?" He pressed the gun’s barrel close to Lillian’s forehead as he looked at the avatar, "should we end the game this early?"

The avatar still continued looking at him before sighing and hopping off the cube. It slowly walked forward, stopping just before it was too close to the camera and said,

"Fine, let’s play your game then," OmniTech’s avatar said, "but I need to be assured that no harm will come to her."

"Don’t worry, Mr CEO," Victor said with a chuckle, "I am a man of my words."

The avatar still looked unconvinced, so Victor added,

"It’s not like you have much of a choice anyway."

OmniTech’s avatar frowned at his words, but didn’t argue, instead the screen just started glitching, its form fading with the glitch and slowly the screen changed, revealing the person behind the avatar.

Victor’s eyes immediately widened as he looked at the person revealed, even though his eyes saw it, his brain was having a hard time making sense of the situation.

"Hello, Victor Langley," the person revealed said with a smile on their face.

"H-how?" Victor stuttered out before turning towards the bound Lillian only to have his eyes widened even more.

"Hi," the person in the chair waved, her hands now unbound as she tossed a gun in her mouth.

"You seem surprised," the person on the other end of the call, Lillian Hayes, said with a smile.

"T-this is impossible," Victor said, "I saw my men bring you in, there’s no way."

"Your benefactor didn’t tell you?" Lillian asked, disappointment evident in her eyes, "you see, we at OmniTech Corp have a lot more than we let the world see, and what you just witnessed was one of those things."

"You really thought it’d be that easy?" Silk, sitting in the chair asked with a smile, "you’re even dumber than your son was."

That successfully worked to trigger Victor as he pointed the gun back at Silk, "you seem to have forgotten that I still have one of your people, Lillian."

He had dropped the honorifics and all that was present in his eyes was rage...which also meant that his rationality was nowhere to be seen and the slightest provocation would cause him to pull the trigger.

But Lillian’s response shocked him,

"Then go ahead, Mr Langely," she said, "shoot her."

Victor looked at the screen before looking back at Silk, who looked completely unbothered, before he chuckled.

Without warning, he pulled the trigger.

PSST!

That wasn’t right.... weren’t guns usually supposed to go Bang?

Victor looked at the gun’s barrel only to realize that instead of a bullet, a stream of water was flowing from the barrel.

Silk only tilted her head to the side to avoid the water, though a few drops did fall on her shoulders.

"I told you that’d be funny," suddenly, a laugh was heard behind Victor, causing him to turn around.

Where his guards were supposed to be, was now a kid with white hair, the one laughing, a skinny man with glasses, one that looked sleep derived, and a man in a ridiculous black coat.

"I guess it needs recharge," Zero said as he placed a hand on his neck and removing the tech attachmed there and looking at it.

Victor still couldn’t comprehend what was happening, one moment the advantage was completely his and the next, his guards and captive had turned into different people?

"W-what the hell is happening?" He finally let out, pulling attention towards him again.

"Oh right," Lillian said, "why don’t you take a seat and we’ll explain what happened."

Before he could say or do anything else, he was suddenly forced into the chair that he had previously tied Lillian...or rather, Silk in.

"You see," She began, "foiling your plan was pretty easy."

***

[A few minutes before the kidnap]

Lillian walked out of the elevator and towards the vending machine where a suspicious man approached.

Though his words were that of a fan, he subtly passed a paper towards her in a way that made it seem the least bit suspicious.

Trust me.
