Begging for a Second Chance (Sienna Sloan and Jarred Sterling) novel Chapter 351

As she spoke, she turned to leave.

But a hand suddenly gripped her wrist.

Jarred stood tall and imposing, one hand still casually tucked in his pocket.

Even dressed in a standard uniform, he couldn't hide the effortless, commanding aura that radiated from his very bones.

His dark gaze locked onto her profile. His voice was as sharp as ice, emphasizing every word.

"Henry and the team left me dozens of missed calls and texts. Are you telling me you didn't see a single one?"

Sienna raised an eyebrow, meeting his gaze without hesitation. "I don't make a habit of looking at other people's phones."

Their eyes locked.

Her gaze was perfectly calm, devoid of any guilt.

Yet, it was this flawless composure that cemented Jarred's suspicions.

He closed the distance, his hands gently gripping her shoulders.

His grip tightened with suppressed intensity, bordering on losing control as he lowered his voice.

"I admit she isn't a saint, and she can be quite reckless at times."

A faint smile played on his lips, his tone carrying a rare gentleness, yet every word landed heavily. "But, baby, you know damn well you're the only woman I've ever loved.

You also know that what I feel for her is nothing more than guilt and gratitude for a past favor. Nothing beyond that.

Do you really have to be so ruthless? Do you have to push this past the point of no return?"

A dull ache radiated from her collarbones under his grip.

Sienna glanced down at the hands holding her shoulders.

Then she looked up into his intense, nearly unhinged eyes, a cold smile forming on her lips.

"I have no idea what you're talking about, Captain Sterling."

Jarred stared at her beautiful, indifferent features, as if trying to see straight through her. A chaotic mix of love and resentment tore at his chest.
