Begging for a Second Chance (Sienna Sloan and Jarred Sterling) novel Chapter 407

Looking at the furious woman in front of him, his voice dropped a fraction.

"You really pull no punches. I admit I acted out of selfish motives, used you as a pawn to test Maloney, and spiked the drink.

But the damage is done. You've smashed my place and vented your anger. That should be enough.

Ms. Sloan, don't forget you still need a favor from me."

"You think you have the guts to refuse?" Sienna scoffed, her smile growing colder.

"If you take the benefits and don't deliver, go ahead and back out. Let's see how much wealth you have left for me to wreck.

Not only are you going to handle this flawlessly, but from now on, you'd better make yourself scarce when you see me. Otherwise, I'll come back and smash this place up whenever I'm in a bad mood."

Silas chuckled softly, his tone still maintaining its lazy drawl. "I really provoked a monster."

As they spoke, hurried footsteps suddenly approached from outside.

A subordinate, pale-faced, rushed over to Silas's side and reported anxiously.

"Mr. Draken! It's an emergency! Our offline antique stores across the city have just had their supply chains completely cut off, and our warehouse inventory has been seized.

Several of our partners abruptly terminated their contracts simultaneously. They moved so fast we had no time to react!"

Silas raised an eyebrow.

Before he could respond, another subordinate ran in from the entrance.

"Boss, the overseas branches are in full crisis mode! Shipping lines are blocked, and our partner auction houses have unilaterally terminated their agreements.

All cross-border jewelry and antique trading has been completely suspended. The capital chain is broken!"

With two disastrous reports arriving back-to-back, the massive hall fell dead silent.

The lazy smile on Silas's face finally vanished entirely, his narrow pupils constricting.

Domestic businesses seized, overseas capital lines severed.
