Sienna followed Celeste's line of sight.
As the tension reached its boiling point, Celeste's subordinate slowly leaned in and whispered something to the girl standing next to him.
The crowd parted, and Sienna finally saw the girl's face.
It was Daisy Bridges!
Daisy shoved her way through the onlookers, stumbling wildly toward the stage.
Thanks to Celeste's intentional prodding, Daisy had consumed far too much wine tonight. Her cheeks were flushed red, her eyes glassy and unfocused.
The hatred and grievances she had suppressed for so long had been entirely ignited by the alcohol.
After their last two encounters, Sienna had assumed Daisy wouldn't dare cause any more trouble for a while.
At the very least, she thought Jarred had successfully talked some sense into her.
But looking at her state tonight, Celeste had clearly been fueling the fire, subtly manipulating Daisy into blaming Sienna for every single tragedy in her life.
This pushed Daisy, who was already drowning in the grief of losing her mother, into a deep, unshakable hatred for Sienna.
In Daisy's eyes, Sienna had become a high-and-mighty tyrant, recklessly crushing the weak.
Daisy violently shoved away the waiter trying to support her, staggering up the steps of the stage.
She snatched the microphone right out of the host's hands. A piercing screech of feedback sliced through the joyous atmosphere.
The bustling banquet hall plunged into a deathly silence.
Every guest turned to stare in shock at the completely unhinged Daisy.
The aftershocks of the red wine surged through her. Daisy trembled from head to toe, her eyes bloodshot.
Her voice was shrill and devastating, filled with world-ending hatred as she pointed straight at Sienna in the crowd below.
"It's her! Sienna! She is a murderer!"
The words hit like a bomb. The room erupted into chaos, gasps echoing from every corner.
"At a time like this, you're still running around framing people? Just because you have power and connections, you think you can do whatever the hell you want!"
Daisy gripped the microphone until her knuckles turned white, her agonizing screams bouncing off the walls of the hall.
