All the color vanished from Daisy's face.
Her lips trembled violently, and her voice cracked under the weight of her panic. "You... you're making things up!"
"We both know whether I'm making things up or not." Sienna turned gracefully to walk away. "I heard your apology. I don't accept it. You can leave now."
She hadn't taken more than two steps before she heard the distinct sound of Daisy grinding her teeth.
"Sienna Sloan, who the hell do you think you are? You're just a pathetic woman on the verge of divorce. What gives you the right to lecture me?"
Sienna didn't even bother turning around.
She could hear the raw, unhinged hatred bleeding through Daisy's voice—the mask had finally shattered.
That venom was real.
The apologies, the tears, the submissive act—it had all been a desperate, calculated lie.
Sienna kept walking.
Anything and anyone connected to Jarred Sterling was something she absolutely refused to entertain anymore.
Frantic footsteps echoed behind her. Daisy was giving chase.
Sienna picked up her pace slightly—not out of fear, but purely out of sheer exhaustion. She had zero desire to waste another second on someone addicted to their own theatrical delusions.
Watching Sienna's proud, unbothered silhouette retreat down the corridor, Daisy felt the blood drain from her face as overwhelming humiliation and vicious resentment surged through her veins.
She had spent her entire life clinging to the Sterling family, practically growing up alongside Jarred.
Her devotion might have been pathetic, but it was deeper and more desperate than anyone else's.
She knew that Jarred treated everyone with an ingrained, detached gentlemanly grace.
But around Sienna, he was entirely different. There was a repressed, visceral intensity he reserved exclusively for her.
Why?
Why did a cold, indifferent woman like Sienna, who never fought for his attention, hold Jarred's heart in a vice grip?
Why did she, after years of meticulous plotting and maneuvering, end up banished overseas like trash, forced to exit the stage in absolute disgrace?
The suffocating, toxic rage completely obliterated whatever logic Daisy had left.
A vicious, feral glint flashed through her eyes.
