Begging for a Second Chance (Sienna Sloan and Jarred Sterling) novel Chapter 468

Daisy froze, whipping her head toward the source of the sound.

A woman stood in the shadows, dressed in standard hospital scrubs with a surgical mask obscuring the lower half of her face.

Daisy couldn't recognize her at all.

But the masked woman's words cut clearly through the silence: "There are no cameras in this section of the hallway. The hospital's entire network is down for maintenance today. If you're smart about this, no one will ever know what really happened."

Those few sentences were like slipping a loaded gun into the hands of a lunatic.

Total clarity washed over Daisy.

Exactly. No security cameras. No witnesses.

As long as she looked battered enough, pathetic enough, and screamed loud enough.

Everyone would instantly believe that the arrogant, icy Dr. Sloan had used her authority to brutally assault a helpless girl.

When the dust settled, Jarred would see Sienna as a heartless monster, and the public would crucify her for her cruelty.

Meanwhile, Daisy would be the tragic victim—the poor girl who came to offer a sincere apology, only to be maliciously attacked.

Even if she still had to board that plane, she was going to drag Sienna straight down to hell with her, obliterating her pristine reputation in the process.

Daisy looked up, biting her lip hard enough to draw blood.

Her gaze locked onto Sienna's retreating figure—the woman who hadn't even deemed her worthy of a second glance.

Gripping her phone tightly, Daisy fired off a rapid text message before breaking into a sprint after her.

Sienna hadn't anticipated Daisy being this relentlessly unhinged.

She was already at her office door, yet Daisy was still aggressively tailing her.

Having zero desire to engage with the lunatic any further, Sienna reached for the handle to go inside.

However, just as her fingers wrapped around the metal, the frantic thud of footsteps behind her was suddenly punctuated by a bloodcurdling shriek.

"Ah—!"

Sienna snapped her head around just in time to see Daisy "miss a step" from the staircase two feet away.

Daisy threw her entire body weight backward, slamming brutally into the metal handrail.

She tumbled down two hard concrete steps before crashing violently onto the floor of the landing.
