A hint of mockery flashed across Jarred's face. "Are you all just incompetent, or is that door an impenetrable fortress?"

Declan lowered his head, not daring to argue. Suddenly, he remembered something.

"But I did find this hidden in the floorboards of the cabin."

Leaning against the leather seat, Jarred stared at the yellowed, trash-like notebook in Declan's hand and frowned.

He didn't reach for it. "What is it?"

"It's filled with what looks like chemical formulas. I couldn't make sense of it," Declan explained.

Jarred raised an eyebrow and immediately reached out to take it.

Just as he was about to open the cover, his phone began to ring.

It was Weston.

Jarred leaned back against his seat, casually tossing the piece of "trash" aside, and answered the call.

Weston's voice sounded incredibly anxious. "Boss, I believe there's something you need to be aware of.

Miss Bridges has been independently charging a massive amount to several of your accounts. The total is quite staggering..."

"How staggering?" Jarred scoffed, finding the situation almost comical.

In his eyes, someone like Daisy would at most order a few high-end meals. How much could that possibly cost?

Weston let out a heavy sigh. "I've already forwarded the receipts to Mr. Ward's phone..."

Before he even finished speaking, Declan received a flurry of notifications.

One look at the screen, and Declan nearly dropped his phone.

His hands trembling, he quickly passed it to the back seat.

Jarred glanced at the screen, his brow furrowing slightly, but he remained silent.
