Chapter 265
“Madam, I was asking you. Without your personal assurance, I find it difficult to feel at ease, I’m afraid I might he awake at night, worrying whether Dr. Windsor will still be available for my mother’s next appointment.”
Even though Margaret was absolutely seething, she couldn’t very well drag me away by force right in front of Benjamin
All she could do was shoot me one last, venomous glare before leaving with the butler in tow.
“Thank you,” I said to Benjamin, the tension finally starting to drain from my shoulders.
“Don’t mention it. It was the right thing to do.”
He gave me a warm smile, then added, sounding genuinely concerned, “Why don’t you stay for dinner? It’s getting late. You can eat, and then I’ll have a driver take you home.”
It was hard to refuse, especially since I’d genuinely liked the Sinclair family from the moment I met them. So I agreed.
During dinner, Benjamin looked at me, a thoughtful expression on his face. “You know,” he began, “every time my mother see you, it reminds her of our youngest sister.”
“Really?” I asked. “Where is she now?”
