Blizzard First Love and a Wife Who Finally Snaps novel Chapter 291

Isabel had once wanted to bring Oliver to see her grandmother, to introduce him as her child.

She had wanted to tell her grandmother that she wasn't alone, that she had a husband and a child, and that her life was good, so she shouldn't worry.

But in the first couple of years, Oliver's health was too poor for long-distance travel.

Later, when he was older and Adrian was home, she wanted them to come together as a family.

But they were frequently traveling abroad.

In the end, she brought Edmund, a child who was more like a son to her than her own, and Julian, a husband who, though not in love with her, was incredibly responsible.

In a way, it fulfilled her grandmother's wish.

"This is just to get acquainted. We'll be visiting more often from now on."

After Isabel finished, Edmund obediently called out, "Great-grandma."

Isabel gave him a hug.

Edmund mimicked Isabel, bowing his head to the ground before his great-grandmother's grave.

When the group made their way back down the mountain...

They found unwelcome guests in their small yard.

"Mommy!"

Oliver rushed forward, pushing Edmund aside to grip Isabel's hand tightly.

Adrian, meanwhile, sat perfectly composed at the stone table, helping himself to the tea as if he owned the place.

Old Mr. Reed took one look and went straight inside.

He wanted no part of this.

Julian sat down at the stone table, glanced around, and smiled. "Mr. Blackwell didn't even ask before making tea."

Adrian unhurriedly poured another cup. "Mr. Reed isn't so petty as to begrudge me a cup of tea."

"It's not about being petty. It's just that you didn't ask about the water before drinking it, Mr. Blackwell. What if it wasn't from the spring?"

Adrian subtly scanned the small yard. "What else could it be, if it was in the teapot?"

He had already guessed what Julian was implying, which only made Julian's smile widen. "It could have been the water I was boiling to wash the dishes. I didn't expect you to drink it for me, Mr. Blackwell."

It began when Isabel tried to pull her hand away.

But Oliver's grip was incredibly strong.

Fearing injury to her own hand, she didn't dare use too much force.

Seeing this, Edmund didn't hesitate to punch Oliver.

Oliver already disliked Edmund, his resentment for him 'stealing' his mother having festered for some time.

He fought back.

Thanks to the scuffle, Isabel's hand was finally free.

She didn't try to stop their fight. Instead, she looked at Julian.

Julian glanced over. "It's fine. Mind your own business. A little roughhousing is good for boys. Let them roll around in the dirt; it'll toughen them up."

When Oliver was with Isabel and Adrian, he had been trained.

No child his age could bully him.
