Blizzard First Love and a Wife Who Finally Snaps novel Chapter 307

“I’d like to see just how disrespectful you can be.”

Old Mrs. Blackwell was acting like a child. “Are you going to throw me out into the snow, or lock me up in the old Blackwell estate?”

Isabel glanced outside. It had started to snow. Just in time for Christmas.

Edmund had asked her if it would snow in Westbridge for Christmas. Her press conference had been scheduled right around this time. She’d told him to look forward to it, that if it snowed heavily, she would build a snowman with him.

And here she was.

Thinking of this, she looked for her phone, only to realize she didn’t have her purse. She had taken off her coat in the warm room.

She had no way to let Edmund know.

“What are you looking for, Mommy?” Oliver came closer. “I can help you look, but please don’t leave our home. Can you celebrate the holidays with me?”

The holidays were next month. The last time, Isabel had wanted to get the divorce before the new year. After all this time, another year had passed. Adrian’s birthday was also during that period. But unlike before, she no longer looked forward to it, no longer made preparations.

She ignored Oliver and tried to help old Mrs. Blackwell up.

“Grandma, this won’t work.”

Adrian was determined not to divorce. Old Mrs. Blackwell couldn’t possibly die here. “Please get up first.”

Old Mrs. Blackwell refused to move.

Adrian went to help her up himself, intending to take her back to the family estate.

Adrian finally spoke. “I’m not blaming Grandma. She’s the one who wants me to get a divorce and is threatening me by lying on the floor.”

He sighed lightly. “Grandma, forcing a marriage was one thing, but forcing a divorce like this… don’t you think that’s a bit much?”

Regarding Isabel and Adrian’s divorce, most of the Blackwells had initially agreed. No matter what Adrian did wrong, he was still one of them, and people tend to protect their own. If he really didn’t like her, there was no need to force it. Since old Mrs. Blackwell had relented, a divorce seemed for the best.

But then they discovered that Adrian didn’t want to divorce her.

That was strange. If he didn’t want a divorce, why did he keep hurting her? If he didn’t like Selena, why was he so good to her, so different with her?

The Blackwells still didn’t know what Adrian wanted Selena for. They only knew he was still pulling strings, trying to get Selena out. So they subconsciously assumed he liked and cared for her. But then why not divorce Isabel?

“If you would just handle the divorce properly,” Mr. Blackwell said, now looking at his son with disapproval. Old Mrs. Blackwell was his mother. As an only child, he had a somewhat gentle nature. When his own father passed, he wouldn't have been able to manage the Blackwell family without his mother’s help.
