Blizzard First Love and a Wife Who Finally Snaps novel Chapter 311

“Isn’t it enough that you and your mother killed Patrick Ellison!” Catherine was the first to speak, her voice filled with agitation and resentment. “Now you’re going to bring ruin to our Blackwell family too!”

Julian let out a casual hum. “It’s just a divorce. Nothing so dramatic.”

He tapped his watch. “Mr. Blackwell, you have until midnight tonight. If this isn’t settled, Selena will die.”

Selena’s crimes weren’t limited to the six lives lost due to Y-2; there were others. Even though she wasn’t a citizen of this country, Kate Caldwell had already made arrangements. No matter what happened, Selena’s life was over.

Adrian didn’t hesitate for long. Perhaps if Catherine hadn’t spoken first, he would have chosen Selena without a second thought.

“As soon as we confirm Grandma is okay, we’ll go get it done.”

Isabel wasn’t surprised. Adrian’s behavior was baffling, but when Selena was in the picture, he would always choose Selena, regardless of his reasons.

She would never be his priority.

“I’ll help you back to your room,” Isabel said to Julian. “I can go by myself later. You need to rest.”

“No need,” Julian said. “Just help me to that chair over there. I’ll wait with you.” It was better to stay, in case this bastard tried to pull something.

The others decided to wait as well.

Old Mrs. Blackwell wasn’t actually in any danger; she was faking it. She had been biding her time in the emergency room, but when she heard Adrian was going to finalize the divorce with Isabel, she came right out.

“The matriarch is fine, just make sure she doesn’t get too agitated. After all, she has a transplanted heart,” the doctor explained before leaving.

Oliver was heartbroken and on the verge of tears. Mrs. Blackwell quickly comforted him. “Grandma will play with you, and Sophie and your aunties too. Our yard is huge, we can build as many as you want.”

Catherine chimed in, “That’s right, I’ll have my son come play with you too.”

She had always despised Julian. She didn't care before if Isabel was involved with him, since Adrian was going to divorce her anyway.

But now, she couldn’t stand to see her brother being one-upped by Julian, that disastrous omen who shouldn’t have been born and had caused his own father’s death.

“Whatever tricks you used in the past, Adrian is a real catch, and it’s no surprise you fell for him. But your taste has certainly gone downhill since leaving him. A man like that is a jinx. Be careful you don’t get jinxed to death.”

Isabel had never thought of Catherine as so malicious before. She had always been cold and haughty toward her, avoiding conversation whenever possible.
