“So just because he doesn’t want it, they won’t get one?”
“Then when he didn’t want to get married, why couldn’t he just not get married?” old Mrs. Blackwell fumed.
But after the car had driven some distance, it dawned on her, and she hit Alexander with her cane.
“You’re taking advantage of your old grandmother’s slow mind, tricking me with my own words.”
“If he didn’t want to get married, do you think I could have forced him? He wanted to get married, that’s why it happened. But he didn’t cherish it and broke her heart. How could I stand by and watch him continue to hurt Isabel?”
The blow from the cane meant nothing to Alexander; he didn’t even flinch. “Grandma, by the same logic, if he doesn’t want a divorce, you can’t force him either.”
Old Mrs. Blackwell sighed repeatedly, completely distressed. She knew it was true, but she had no other options.
“Mom, just stop worrying about it. What if they can resolve their misunderstanding? That would be a good thing.”
“Resolve what misunderstanding?” Old Mrs. Blackwell hit Mr. Blackwell with her cane, attacking indiscriminately. “Is that a misunderstanding that can be resolved? He chose to protect an outsider time and time again, disregarding his legal wife. If it were you, could you forgive that?”
Putting himself in that position, Mr. Blackwell thought he probably couldn’t. But this was something they really couldn’t control.
“Well, it’s not like you have a solution either, do you?”
Old Mrs. Blackwell clutched her chest. “You’re all going to be the death of me.”
“Are you okay, Mom?” Mr. Blackwell grew anxious and told the driver to head straight for the hospital.

Back at Halcyon Hills Residence, Isabel and Adrian were at a standoff when he received a phone call. Afterward, he took her and Oliver to the hospital.
Old Mrs. Blackwell was still in the emergency room.
Mr. Blackwell shot him a glare. “You won’t be happy until you’ve driven your grandmother to her grave, will you?”
“I’m fine.” Isabel stroked his head. “If the snow gets heavier later, we can go build a snowman.”
“And have a snowball fight!” Edmund’s eyes lit up. He had never seen such big snowflakes. “Auntie promised me.”
“Okay, Mommy will join you.”
Seeing Isabel with them, they really did look like a family.
Mrs. Blackwell was displeased. “You’re in such a hurry to divorce not just because of Selena, are you? It’s because you have someone else on the side…”
“This child looks about Oliver’s age and calls you Mommy. Don’t tell me you cheated on Adrian a long time ago.”
Isabel was about to retort when Julian covered her mouth.
He looked at Adrian, a smirk playing on his lips, but his eyes were deep and cold. “Mr. Blackwell, as long as you divorce Isabel, you can have Selena.”
