Blizzard First Love and a Wife Who Finally Snaps novel Chapter 331

“But don’t get too happy just yet.”

Adrian continued, “We’re not divorced, and I have no intention of letting you leave Westbridge this time.”

If she couldn’t leave Westbridge, she had no chance of getting to Celvaria.

Isabel was a little confused.

Since they were already sitting side-by-side, she decided to ask. “The only reason you won’t divorce me is because I’m the one who has the upper hand, isn’t it?”

Adrian paused before retorting, “When you insisted on marrying me, did you ever think this day would come?”

His question was an answer in itself.

Isabel said, “No one can predict what will happen decades into their life. When I wanted to get married back then, I certainly never thought about divorce. I was confident I could make you fall in love with me, but then I realized I couldn't, so I wanted to cut my losses.”

“Hah.” Adrian scoffed. “You want a divorce just to cut your losses? What am I? A tool for you to test your theories on?”

Isabel felt it was impossible to reason with Adrian.

They had never sat down and had a calm, proper conversation in all these years.

You could count the number of real talks they’d had on one hand.

And now that they were on the verge of divorce, there was no point in dredging up the past.

They had different life experiences, different upbringings. Naturally, their ways of thinking were different.

He was more rational and cold, while she was admittedly more emotional.

Finally, her lips parted as if to say something, but she remained silent.

“That’s your combination of reasons. You tried and failed to make me love you, so you stopped loving me and now you want a divorce to marry someone else.” His voice grew colder at the mention of her marrying someone else. “You’re just making excuses for yourself. The truth is, you fell in love with someone else, and that’s why you’re pushing for a divorce.”

That was completely twisted logic.

Isabel couldn’t take it anymore, her words sharp. “Fine, let’s just say I have fallen in love with someone else. So if you don’t want to be a cuckold, Mr. Blackwell, then hurry up and grant me a divorce!”

Adrian’s jaw tightened instantly. He fell silent, his face cold.

Isabel was utterly speechless. What an impossible, stubborn man.

“Oliver.”

Just as the tension between them reached a breaking point, Mrs. Blackwell rushed into the room.
