Willow looked at him in surprise, though she didn't forcibly pull away.
Waller finally realized he was refusing to let go of Willow's hand.
He hastily released her and apologized, "I'm sorry."
A faint flush quickly crept up the handsome man's face.
Had she not seen it with her own eyes, Willow never would have believed that someone like Waller could be prone to blushing so shyly.
Catching the faint smile on Willow's lips, Waller suddenly thought of something, his eyes turning incredibly serious. "Next time you want to test this, come to me."
He paused, then emphasized, "Don't ask anyone else."
"Why not?" Willow asked with a laugh.
When did he become so possessive? Who did he learn that from?
"Because you're my girlfriend," Waller said, looking straight into her eyes.
Willow’s breath caught.
Waller's gaze grew even more intense, and finding it almost impossible to handle, Willow had to look away, staring instead at the half-eaten bowl of soup in front of her.
Knowing Waller's personality, he wasn't the type to joke around about something like this.
Did that mean he was serious?
"I'm serious," Waller said, as if reading her mind.
"So, do you want to think about letting me make this official?"
Astonished, Willow looked up and once again found herself locked into Waller's dark, unwavering, and intensely passionate gaze.
"Let me think about it." Willow wasn't even sure if she had completely overcome her aversion to physical contact with men yet.
"What's holding you back?" Waller gently prodded.
"You should know what I went through in our past life, so..." Willow trailed off, unable to finish the thought.
Waller made a bold suggestion. "How about we try going on a date this afternoon, holding hands?"
Willow's eyes widened. "A date? Holding hands?"
"Yeah," Waller asked again. "Do you want to try?"
It seemed Waller had awakened Willow's competitive spirit.
"Actually, there's one very important test we didn't do today," Waller said.
"What test?" Just as the words left her mouth, Willow noticed exactly where Waller's gaze had fallen.
On her lips.
Her beautiful face instantly flushed bright red.
"I—" Willow wanted to refuse. After all, they were in a parking garage, not some secluded spot.
"Don't you want to know the answer?" Waller knew exactly how to play to Willow's curiosity.
Sure enough, her curiosity was piqued.
Besides, it was her first kiss—she really did want to know what it felt like.
Seeing that she wasn't rejecting him anymore, Waller boldly leaned in. Without giving her a chance to back out, he quickly pressed his lips against hers.
It was fast and incredibly light, like the brush of a feather.
Willow couldn't help but touch her lips, her heart racing faster and faster.
Her face was flushed a deep, burning crimson.
