The moon tugged at my rage, morphing it until my vision was tinted red.

My wolf surged, rage and grief twisting inside her equally, pushing into me until it reached the extreme. Our minds merged. We were no longer wolf and human. Just me. Just like that, I was no longer in control of anything, yet in control of everything.

It wasn’t chaotic this time. It didn’t confuse me. I was calm. I only wanted one thing.

Blood. I wanted their blood.

My jaw stretched, and my canines ached to sink into Kostas’s flesh. My sharp claws tore through my skin so quickly that I smelled blood other than what already covered me. Bones began to crack and stretch, reshaping me into something between a human and a wolf. In seconds, Kostas, Zachary and Randall looked smaller.

The father and son stepped back, their uncertainty showing on their faces.

“Did she just partially shift?” Randall asked. “Werewolves don’t do that.”

“It must be the bond with that Lycan still lingering,” Zachary said. “Proceed as planned. We’re out of time.”

“But Father, the Lycan escaped from the dungeon. What if the bond-”

“The bond is gone,” Kostas snarled. “I can feel it. Proceed.”

Nathan’s jacket, which had swallowed me only moments ago, fit tightly, stretched across my shoulders. My bare legs were on show, fur slowly emerging beneath the blood that coated them. My claws dug into the cold floor as I stood opposite them.

The red ooze coating their bodies rippled, blending with the colour of my rage. They shimmered like disturbed water, and the stench hit me hard. Death.

They were already dead. I was just going to help them get there faster.

“I smell Nathan on her,” Kostas said. “He’s here. I wondered how all those people died outside Katrina’s quarters.”

Grins spread across their faces. Their unease shifted into relief, into certainty. Their certainty that they were still in control. Their certainty that I could never be this.

“Then we proceed,” Randall said. “There’s no need to hunt for them. They’ll come to us willingly.”

Because they thought I was still their hostage.

I led my head, studying the three men who’d torn my life apart piece by piece. I was almost certain now that their plan

couldn’t work without Nathan and Hunter

“Nathan has nothing to do with it I said My voice was deep and steady. “You want me. Then come and get me.”

The grin slid off Kostas’s face His eyes flashed red. his emotions slamming into me in unstable waves, amplified by the

moon

“You still dare to speak for another man he growled

“Because he’s a real man,” I said.

Cold rage was strange. It moved through me more dangerously than the earlier storm. It was cleaner and sharper. It burned

“He kept you from me,” Kostas snarled. “He knew where you were and kept you. You don’t even know who he is.”

“I don’t know who you are,” I said.

I stepped forward slowly, Claws scraped against the floor with every movement. I could still feel the changes continuing inside me, deeper now than before. Something inside me had twisted. It had broken. Those threads that had once woven themselves around my bond with Hunter were thickening, reinforcing. Becoming something else entirely.

Replacing the bond or killing it completely?

Grief surged, threatening to knock the breath from my lungs, but I forced it down and locked eyes with Kostas.

“You know exactly who I am,” he said. “I’m the man our parents chose and raised for you. Now get over here and put on your gown.”

My gaze flicked to the ceremonial robe. The omega holding it trembled so hard that the jewels rattled. Another omega held a velvet cushion with my crown on it, and it slowly slid, slipping from her grasp as she whimpered.

Kostas didn’t even notice. Their whimpers and fear didn’t wring out even an ounce of compassion. Yet the Blackmores still stood by him as the man who would save us all.

“I’m not going to waste time with you,” I said, turning my focus to Zachary. My vision sharpened until I could see his heartbeat pulsing in his neck. His throat bobbed, and he shuffled on his feet. His fear bled into the air before he masked it, his fingers tightening around his pendant as he met my stare. He looked at me as if I weren’t a wolf who’d take it as a challenge. As if a mere omega could never stand up for herself.

“What did you do to Hunter?” I asked.

The thought that he was already dying clawed at me, but I didn’t lose focus. I’d already decided how this ended.

Kostas threw his head back and laughed again, his jealousy and anger snuffing out quickly.

“You really know how to pick them,” he said. “Inviting our greatest enemy into your bed. Destroying us for an orgasm. Was it worth it?”

“It was,” I said.

His fury snapped back. When his eyes glowed again, there was no yellow at all. Just red. Like Hunter’s beast. Like Kostas had become something else. Something feral.

Like he had become someone who could rip me apart and nail me to the wall

“He’s already dead,” Kostas continued. “But just before he takes his last breath, he will watch me sink my teeth into your neck while I thrust into you.”

I didn’t explode. The detonation was too violent for that little word, Instead, I moved One moment, I stood across the hall. The next, I was beside the omegas, the gown in my hand Claws that were still bloody ripped into the delicate fabric effortlessly. The omegas collapsed, petrified, and my crown hit the floor with a sharp crack.

By the time Kostas realised I was already beside him, the robe lay in pieces

Randall and Kostas staggered back, their fear tangling with the rest again.

“What was that? What did you do?” Zachary demanded.

“Didn’t I tell you?” I said calmly. “Forget the full moon. This ends tonight.”

The moon still tugged at me, amplifying everything. And I welcomed it.

Kostas lunged for me, holding back as if he was going to wrap his arms around me. But I dodged and grabbed his arm, twisting it so far behind him that a loud crack echoed in the hallway.

Kostas didn’t scream like I wanted. He grunted as he struggled to get out of my hold.

“What the hell are you doing, princess?” Kostas hissed. “You’re really going to fight me?”

“Omegas don’t do this,” Randall whispered.

No, they didn’t.

“Tell me how to save Hunter, or we all die,” I growled.

“Little girl, you’ve delayed us long enough,” Zachary said, still gripping the pendant.
