**Chapter 98**

**KAT**

A feverish heat coursed through my veins, igniting every nerve ending, driving me to the brink of madness.

Instead of pushing his fingers away from my neck, I found myself gripping his hand tighter, a reckless decision that sent a jolt of exhilaration mixed with pain through me. The sensation was intoxicating, making my head spin. His claws grazed my skin, leaving trails of fire, while his thick length penetrated me deeply, finding every hidden spot of pleasure. Each ridge, each pulse, sent waves of ecstasy crashing over me, propelling me closer to an edge I could hardly comprehend.

Everything around us felt magnified, heightened. I recognized it was my wolf, that primal side of me, urging me on, single-minded in its pursuit of satisfaction. It didn’t matter to her who was the source of this bliss—Hunter or Nathan—but deep down, I felt an overwhelming relief that it was Hunter who held me. The tightness in my chest eased, and the ache in my heart faded into nothingness.

Mate.

That word echoed in my mind like a sacred mantra, repeating over and over, as the intoxicating scent of sandalwood and orange blossom enveloped me, awakening something deep within. It was a powerful force, threading itself through my very essence, intertwining with my blood. I wasn’t just intoxicated by the way he moved inside me; I was overwhelmed by the connection, the bond that tied us together, wrapping around my heart like a warm embrace.

I could feel him—every part of him—as if our minds had fused into one.

His rage, his desire, his love, his pain—they all flowed into me, and I absorbed it, savoring the taste of his emotions as his teeth grazed the mark he had left on my neck.

A sharp intake of breath caught in my throat, and my core tightened around him, setting off a cascade of fireworks throughout my body. A sound I had never made before escaped my lips as I shattered around him, sending him over the edge with me. As his warmth filled me, I felt a fleeting sense of relief, like a fire being doused, yet the flames still flickered within me, refusing to be extinguished.

It was not enough.

“That’s not good enough, Hunter,” I gasped, struggling to catch my breath, my lungs constricted by the weight of our intertwined hands.

His ego seemed to take a hit at my words, and he withdrew, releasing me momentarily. I opened my mouth to protest, but before I could utter a sound, he pushed me against the porch rail, pressing his body against mine while reclaiming my neck with his hand.

“Then I’ll indulge you, princess,” he growled, his voice low and sultry, sending shivers down my spine.

Without warning, he wrapped his other arm around my waist, lifting me effortlessly and settling me back onto him. My feet dangled in the air, my torso leaning precariously over the edge of the railing. The ground below loomed like a dark abyss, but a deep-seated trust thrummed within me. He would never let me fall.

In the fleeting moments of clarity, Hunter leaned over me, offering water or feeding me fruits and meats. Yet the moment my need was quenched, I reached for him again, and he obliged, giving me everything I asked for without a hint of reluctance.

Time lost all meaning. Day and night blurred into an indistinguishable haze, but all that mattered was the man beneath me, soothing the flames that raged within my body. As the sun dipped below the horizon once more, and the full moon rose to take its place, Hunter thrust into me one last time, his knot swelling and locking inside me. My toes curled in ecstasy, even after so many climaxes. My wolf surged forth, instincts taking control once again. As his release finally quenched the fire inside me, I pulled his head down and trailed kisses along his neck.

And then, without thinking, I bit down.

The world around me exploded in a kaleidoscope of sensations. Until that moment, I had only sensed his beast, but now I felt him in his entirety—inside my mind, within my heart. He surrounded me, as if he was finally truly mine. Our hearts beat in unison, our minds intertwined. There was not a single part of him that I could not feel.

Hunter groaned above me, his movements becoming frantic as wave after wave of his release filled me. Then, he collapsed on top of me, and I welcomed his weight, my vision dimming as I surrendered to the darkness once more.

When I opened my eyes again, the sun beamed down, and birds chirped cheerfully among the trees… But I found myself alone, lying on the grass in the forest, naked, sore, and dripping with remnants of our night.

Hunter was nowhere to be found.
