Chapter 281 Take Care of Him

Bethan said, “It’s better to let things go than hold grudges. I’m trying to help both of you here.”

Hugh’s face stayed cold, his eyes full of suspicion.

“Mr. Locke’s insomnia is acting up again,” Bethan continued. “He’s been getting headaches and feeling drowsy. He didn’t mean to—”

Before she could finish, Hugh shot up from the bed.

Bethan knew Hugh wasn’t going to let this go.

Right now, she couldn’t think of any other way to explain what Arthur did.

More than ten minutes later, Jacob came back with the settlement agreement. Only after Hugh signed it did Bethan finally chill out.

Bethan called out, “Mr. Locke, you can come in now.”

The door opened and Arthur stepped inside.

Hugh, propped up on the hospital bed, immediately scowled. “So you were lurking out there the whole time?”

Arthur jabbed his finger against Hugh’s leg, poking him over and over. “So what if I was? Last I checked, you don’t own this hospital.”
