Chapter 301 I Killed Them

“Colin?!”

Megan’s eyes widened when she saw who walked in, and she scrambled backward in terror.

The man was sharply dressed in a tailored suit, glasses perched on his nose.

He looked at Megan with pure disgust. “You bitch. After all these years, you’re still out here causing chaos!”

Hugh glanced at Jacob, who pulled a paternity test report from his pocket.

Two bodyguards dragged Hudson over, shoving him in front of Megan.

Hugh’s voice was cold and steady. “Colin Hayes, this kid’s yours and Megan’s. Am I right?”

Colin flicked a disdainful look at Hudson before jabbing a finger at Megan, hatred blazing in his eyes.

was getting married, and she still drugged me, trying to force me to marry her instead.

“When I said no, she left a positive pregnancy test for my fiancée and vanished. Almost ruined my engagement.”

He didn’t pause for breath. “Three years later, she showed up with the kid, demanding I divorce my wife and give them my last name.

“When I refused that too, she started blackmailing me for drugs. I told her to go to hell, so she trashed my house until I cut her a check for thirty million to disappear.”

Colin’s jaw tightened. “Mr. Cavill, her husband died of a drug overdose. I swear she did it on purpose!”

Megan screamed, shaking her head wildly. “Colin, you bastard! You assaulted me! Got me pregnant and made me marry someone else! Now you’re accusing me of murder with no proof? Do you have any decency left?!”

She dug her heels in, denying everything-and Hugh’s patience snapped.

through the tension.

“Megan, six years ago, you stole sixty million from my grandfather behind my back. Staged a robbery to cover it up. Then you set your sights on Colin, trying to marry into his money. When he shot you down, you hid the

pregnancy.

“You planned to come back to the States, but my grandfather saw through your act and forced you to marry someone else.”

“No! I never did any of that! I’m innocent!” Megan shrieked, tears streaming down her face.

Hugh took a step closer, his gaze unflinching. “You used this child to bleed Colin dry for child support. Your husband abused you for years because he kept demanding that you send the kid to his real father. But you refused…

“You wanted to wait until Hudson was older to squeeze more money out of the Hayes family, didn’t you?”

Megan cowered, scrambling backward as Hugh advanced.

“You got the thirty million from Colin and planned to come back. But your husband wouldn’t divorce you. So you got him hooked on drugs to escape his family. And when he went through withdrawals, you gave him an overdose. Killed him. Right?”

Megan’s face turned ashen. “They’re lying! I didn’t kill anyone! I didn’t!”

“You paid Shawn to murder Leonard. Just a kid, barely eighteen. After you had him killed, you got scared and ran overseas for two years. Waited until you had an excuse to come back.”

Hugh’s voice was icy enough to freeze blood. “You planned every move before you returned. Megan, you’ve been playing this game for years. What a twisted little plan you had.”

Megan stumbled to her feet, screaming at him hysterically. “I didn’t!”

Hugh scoffed. “I already turned over all the evidence to the police. You can’t deny it anymore.”

The mention of the police shattered Megan’s composu41

She lunged at Hugh like a wild animal. “Hugh! I did everything for you! You can’t do this to me!”

Two bodyguards stepped in, blocking her path before she could reach him.

“Megan, I owe you for saving my life once. So I put up with your nonsense, took care of you. But you crossed a line-broke the law. No one can protect you now.”

Megan’s eyes darted to Bethan, rage contorting her features. “Is it because of her?”

She screamed, wild and unhinged. “You want to remarry that bitch? That’s why you’re sending me to jail?!”

Hugh said nothing.

Megan suddenly crumpled, sobbing.

“Hugh, you defied your family for me. Divorced your wife for me. You wanted to marry me. You loved me. Right?”

Hugh’s gaze flicked to Bethan, and the cold, distant look on her face sent a sharp pain through his chest.

He turned back to Megan, his voice softening, just a little. “Megan, yes, we dated. I did think about marrying you. When we reunited after six years and I saw how you’d been hurt, I felt terrible. Guilty.”

He paused. “I hid you from Bethan. Favored you. But I never once thought about divorcing Bethan because of you.”

Megan let out a bitter, shrill laugh. “Even if you didn’t want to, you two got divorced anyway!”

Hugh’s expression darkened. “I agreed to the divorce because I wanted a fresh start with Bethan. You had nothing to do with it.”

His words hit her like a punch to the gut.

The laughter died in her throat. Her eyes turned cold and

vicious.

“So this whole time… you were just stringing me along? For today?” She ground out the words through clenched teeth.

Hugh’s silence was answer enough, and Megan snapped.

She looked around at the faces staring back at her, then screamed at the top of her lungs. “Yes! I killed them!”

She pointed at Hugh frantically. “Who told you to be so perfect? So rich? The second I saw you, I wanted you!

“I faked saving your life. Made you see me as some innocent victim, got you to trust me… all of it was a lie! I’ve been scheming since day one!
