Breaking Point of Divorce (Hugh and Bethan) novel Chapter 327

Chapter 327 Passed Out

It was the weekend, the day of the Field family dinner.

Early in the morning, Bethan made her way to the supermarket near the neighborhood. As she was browsing the shelves, Hugh, looking dapper in a well-tailored suit, spotted her.

He approached her with a hesitant air and said, “Bethy, I gotta talk to you.”

Bethan shot him a cold look and replied sharply, “Hugh, you can’t call me that. I’ve got nothing to say to you.”

With that, she put the salt she was holding back on the shelf and turned to leave.

Hugh, despite the churning pain in his stomach, was desperate. He quickly stepped in her way and blurted out, “I really need a few minutes of your time. It’s important.”

Bethan stared him down and said firmly, “Hugh, I don’t wanna see you or hear you out. My business is none of your concern. The best thing you can do for me is to stay away. Got it?”

Their eyes met, and Bethan’s look was unyielding. Hugh’s already pale face grew even paler.

Seeing Hugh blocking the aisle, Bethan walked up and gave him a hard shove.

Hugh stumbled and fell to the floor.

The intense pain in his stomach made him instinctively grab Bethan’s ankle.

“Bethy, my stomach’s killing me,” he gasped.

Bethan glanced down at him, then shook off his grip and stepped over him.

She paused, her back still to Hugh, and said coolly, “Mr. Cavill, it’s not just a stomachache. You need to calm down.”

Then she walked away with resolute steps.

Hugh lay on the aisle floor, his vision starting to fade.

“Bethan, we’ll talk when you’ve cooled off,” he murmured

weakly.

“Mr. Cavill, you need to calm down,” Bethan’s cold words. echoed in his ears.

The two cold statements seemed to blend, and Hugh felt as if not only his stomach but his whole being was in pain.

He recalled how Bethan had been in a state because of

Megan.

She’d fainted right in front of him, but he’d thought she was just being dramatic. He’d been so cold-hearted then, telling her to calm down and leaving her alone at home.

Now, here Hugh was, sick and collapsed in front of her, and she’d left him with those cold words.

He finally realized how it felt to be ignored and deserted by someone he cared about. It was pure torture.

Suddenly, Hugh felt a rush of metallic taste in his mouth.

A mouthful of blood spurted out, scaring a nearby store clerk.

“Hey! Someone’s spitting blood and passed out!” the clerk shouted.

It was eight o’clock that evening.

Up on the second floor of the Field Manor, Mason, looking dashing in a white casual suit, stood by the second-floor railing, watching Hugh ascend the stairs.

“You nearly bled out from your stomach this morning and got rushed to the hospital. And now you’re here at night. Are you trying to kill yourself?” Mason chided.

Hugh, clad in a well-tailored black suit that perfectly accentuated his figure, joined Mason by the railing.

Leaning slightly forward, he grasped the railing with both hands and surveyed the dinner party downstairs.

His exquisite features were set, with his lips pressed. Despite his tired look and sickly complexion, his cold and noble aura was still palpable.

crowd for Bethan.

Upon learning of Hugh’s arrival, Bradley Field, the head of the Field family, came upstairs personally.

“Since you don’t want to join the fun downstairs, Mr. Cavill, you can take a little rest up here,” he said, then quickly ordered the servants to set up a resting area by the second-floor railing.

After making all the arrangements, Bradley left.

Hugh slumped into a single-person sofa and reached for the wine glass on the coffee table.

But Mason leaned over and snatched it away. “Drinking yourself to death won’t make Bethan care about you,” he quipped.

Mason’s words hit a nerve with Hugh, darkening his already gloomy expression.

Seeing Hugh in such a precarious state, Mason offered some well-meaning advice. “Go back and rest. Bethan came with Mr. Dixon. She’ll be fine. And if there’s any trouble, I’m here.”
