Breaking Point of Divorce (Hugh and Bethan) novel Chapter 436

Chapter 436 You Might Find Something Interesting

In full view of everyone, Megan was taken away in a police car. The crowd buzzed with endless chatter.

Maria felt annoyed and embarrassed as she apologized to Sarah. "Sorry, Mrs. Field. It's all my fault today. I'll bring my niece to make up for it another day. I have something urgent, so I'll leave first."

With a hangdog look, she left.

Right after that, Sarah took her leave as well.

Pulling out her phone, she made a call to her brother. "Could you find someone to look into Bradley? He suddenly gave up that piece of land in the east of the city to the Cavill family!"

As Sarah hung up the phone, Gwen strolled over, her arms folded.

Eyeing Gwen with a scowl, Sarah snapped, "Gwen, Maria and I have been besties for over a decade. You can't sow discord between us with just a few words."

Gwen shrugged. "Mrs. Field, I barely know you. Why would I wanna stir up trouble between you two?"

Sarah's face darkened. "Ms. Cavill, I know your brother used to date Maria's niece, and they have some bad blood. But that's none of my business. Don't try to use me against them."

Gwen rolled her eyes, annoyed. "Look, Mrs. Field. I respect my long friendship with your daughter, so I'm warning you. When your husband says he's on a business trip or out, go check 501, Unit 1, Building 3 of Evergreen Community. You might find something interesting."

Watching Sarah stagger away, Gwen promptly called Hugh, "Hugh, I did as you told me and filled Mrs. Field in."

After hanging up with Hugh, she excitedly phoned Bethan.

On the other end of the line, Bethan was absolutely delighted to hear that Megan had been sent into police custody again.

"Bethan, I gotta celebrate this. Let's have a virtual toast!" Gwen exclaimed.

Then she dragged Mason to a restaurant and ordered a bottle of wine.

Over an hour later, they stumbled out of the restaurant.

While Mason was stone-cold sober, Gwen was plastered.

Mason offered to take her home, but Gwen insisted on going to the movies.

Mason scooped her up and put her in the car. "It's the middle of the night, and you're drunk as a skunk. Time to go home and hit the sack."

However, Gwen pointed at Mason's face and slurred, "Mason, if you don't take me to the movies, I'll cut you out of my life!"

Muttering a sigh, Mason gave in and drove her to the theater.

While looking after the drunkard by his side, he casually bought two tickets.

Then she clasped his chin and swooped in for a kiss.

Mason twisted his head away, still holding out. "Hold your horses for a sec."

He fished out his phone and hit the record button. Then, he coaxed Gwen into giving him a promise.

Gwen declared all proper and square that it'd just be one little peck.

But before she could even land that kiss, Mason flipped the script and pinned her down instead. "Let's move to another spot. Kiss me all you want."

Without waiting for Gwen to give the ok, Mason scooped her up in his arms.

If he couldn't win her over today, he wasn't much of a man!

Forty minutes later, they were in Mason's private suite at the Regal Hotel.

On the floor, her expensive evening gown was haphazardly strewn next to his dress pants. Her high heels were toppled over on his white shirt.

On the intimate king-sized bed, Gwen was shuddering from all the kisses Mason was laying on her. His eyes were already ablaze with desire.

"Mason, I'm so uncomfortable," she moaned.

"Let it out, and you'll feel better," he murmured.
