Chapter 93 I’ll Do Anything

Miranda’s words made the faces of the Cavill family elders fall.

Hugh stared intently at Bethan, waiting for her to say something, then fell silent.

Bethan sat quietly beside her mother, her head bowed.

If Fiona had come alone, she might have thought it was a genuine attempt to make peace.

But with Hugh’s father and grandfather in tow, she knew things weren’t that simple.

Sure enough, Ryan, Hugh’s father, spoke up in a harsh tone, “Your Olsen family went belly-up back then. If it weren’t for my son, you might have had to sell your kids to pay off the debt. A fallen heiress like Bethy marrying into the Cavill family? That’s quite a step up, you have to

admit.”

Bethan jumped to her feet in a flash, wanting to retort, but Miranda quickly yanked her back down.

Ryan scoffed, “Since you know it’s a step up, you should be happy as a clam.”

Miranda shot back right away, “Even if your family is the top family in New York, we won’t let our daughter suffer anymore. This divorce is happening, no ifs, ands, or buts.”

Ryan glared at them. “Since you’re the ones pushing for the divorce, she should walk away with nothing.”

Bethan looked up and locked eyes with Hugh.

Twenty-plus years of childhood friendship and three years of marriage, and he just sat there like a statue as his family insulted her and her parents.

A bitter smile played on her face, and her heart felt like it was shattering into a million pieces.

She slowly got to her feet and faced the Cavill family elders.

“Mr. Ryan Cavill, your son has already figured out how much our Olsen family owes you over the years. We’ve got the one billion ready. As long as your son signs the

orce papers, we’ll hand over the money right away20:06

After a short stand-off, Harvey motioned to Logan, who placed a ledger on the coffee table.

Finally, Harvey broke the silence. “I had someone look into all of Hugh’s financial records from the past three years. The money he spent on the Olsen family is way more than just one billion dollars.”

Bethan’s parents exchanged a knowing glance. Then, Miranda turned and headed to the bedroom.

Bethan immediately grasped what her parents were up to. With tears glistening in her eyes, she took out the bank card Hugh had slipped into her pocket last night.

“Since you’ve checked the accounts, you should know the exact amount,” she said.

Harvey replied with a grim face, “Since you’re hell-bent on getting a divorce, I won’t stop you. The principal is 1.45 billion, and with the interest, it comes to 1.5 billion. Pay this off, and I’ll have Hugh sign the divorce papers with you.”

Her mother’s jewelry set had just sold for 1.5 billion.

If they paid all the money back to the Cavill family, not only would her parents’ retirement be at stake, but her brother’s education would also have to be put on hold.

Hugh quickly reached out and steadied her.

His complex gaze was fixed on her pale face, and he softly called her name in a hoarse voice, “Bethan.”

Just as he was about to pull her into his arms, Vincent pushed him away and helped his daughter sit down on

the sofa.

Bethan saw Miranda coming out of the room with a bank card and hung her head in guilt.

It was all her fault for getting involved with the wrong person, dragging her parents and brother into this mess.

Miranda took the card from Bethan’s hand and placed it on the coffee table. “We’ll pay this money back. Write us a receipt, and you can take these two cards.”

Alapvey, supported by Logan, slowly got up. “Since yolies
