Chapter 154 The Primal Brew
Chapter 154 The Primal Brew
Riley smiled. “Fine by me. We’re sticking together anyway, so i’ll be counting on you for the snacks.”
“It would be my honor!” TartKing gave a playful salute.
As they talked, Riley’s attention was drawn to a pile of junk in the corner of the hollow.
It was a mess of random items-some used as footstools by the apes, others just tossed into the straw.
But when Riley’s system-assisted vision swept over them, she froze.
“Century Mirrorgrass: Discarded in the corner, half-crushed.”
“Mithril Ore: Being chewed on by a baby ape.”
“Companion Amethyst: Embedded in the wall as a decorative light.”
What a waste… a total, absolute waste!

“Hehe, pretty cool, right?” TartKing grinned. “I’ve already made a deal with them. I can trade sweets for this stuff. I’m thinking of doing the big trade right before the dungeon ends. That way I can carry it out safely without worrying about dropping it if something goes sideways mid-run.”
Riley nodded in approval. Honestly, she hadn’t expected TartKing to be that calculating.
Riley watched a small ape use a chunk of “High-Purity Adamantite” to crack a nut, and she felt her heart bleed.
These monkeys had no idea what they were holding! To them, these were probably less valuable than a handful of sweet berries.
But what really caught Riley’s eye was a natural stone basin deep in the hollow.
The basin was filled with an amber liquid that radiated an intense aroma of fruit and fermentation. A single whiff was enough to clear Riley’s exhaustion and give her Mana a noticeable boost.

The massive Ape King was squatting nearby, munching on one of TartKing’s cookies. Noticing Riley’s gaze, it instinctively guarded the stone basin and bared its teeth at her.
Even though it trusted TartKing, it remained wary of this dangerous woman.
“Want a drink?”
TartKing saw Riley’s interest and whispered, “The old guy is super stingy with that stuff. He follows my lead on everything else, but

tre’s not budging on the brew.”
“Maybe you just haven’t offered the ght price.”
Riley opened her Inventory and started digging.
What did these apes want?
Sweets? TartKing had that covered.
Shiny things? Or maybe… some “high-tech” they’d never seen?
Riley pulled out a few empty glass bottles-leftovers from some juice she’d finished earlier.

She shook the bottles and then pulled out a Multifunctional Swiss Army Knife, snapping open the blade with a cold, sharp click.
She walked up to the Ape King, pointing at the stone basin, then at the bottles and the knife.
“The knife for the brew?”
The Ape King hesitated.
It looked at its cookie, then at the beautiful “crystal” bottles and the sharp “iron claw.” It shook its head.
Riley pointed at the elite apes outside with the bows and made a gesture.
“I gave you those bows too. Those aren’t cheap.”
The Ape King looked at the monkeys shooting arrows outside, looking clearly conflicted.
