Chapter 189 The Kill–trap
“It’ll work; we killed a buffed Ash Serpent exactly like this yesterday.”
Pineapple Beer tossed her apple core and stood up. “We’ve got nothing else to do. Think of it as leaderboard farming.”
“I’m in!” BigMountain raised his greatsword.
“What leaderboard?”
“Never mind.”

“I’ll build the traps!” Nobody’s eyes lit up despite her small stature. “But the materials need to be tough; standard materials won’t hold these buffed monsters!”
“Don’t worry about that; we just need to restrict their movement. BigMountain and I will handle the rest.”
For the next two hours, the monkey camp became a hive of activity.
The shivering apes suddenly realized the humans had gone “crazy.”
They stopped hiding in the hollows and started manifesting tools in their hands.
As for materials, the Hardwood bundles Riley had traded from the monkeys came in handy.
Riley went back to basics; she had been quite the crafter back on Earth.
With Nobody’s talent, the project moved along smoothly.
“Nobody, is the latch position right?”
“It’s perfect! Just a bit more to the left so the trigger is more sensitive!”
“BigMountain, stand that hardwood post up and bury it deeper!”
“You got it!”
“Reaper, coat these spikes with your paralysis venom!”
Everyone had a clear role and worked in sync, with the monkeys even helping haul materials.
Two hours later.
A massive trap stood in the illuminated zone before the hollow.
It was funnel–shaped, with the mouth facing the black mist and the narrow end wedged between two

massive trees.
The frame was built from dozens of thigh–thick Hardwood logs, covered in spikes and poisoned stakes. Inside, Nobody had set three layers of tripwires.
The end of the trap pointed directly at the pile of brilliant crystals.
“Whew…”
Riley wiped the sweat from her brow and patted the sturdy wooden post.
“It’s a literal work of art.”
ToxicReaper pushed up his glasses, admiring the fierce construction. “Nobody, your brain is incredible. You’d have been a master of the Torture Bureau in ancient times.”
The trap was set; now came the testing phase.
“Ready, everyone?” Riley asked.
“Ready and waiting!” BigMountain replied.
Nobody nodded, gripping her trigger rope.
A second later, PineappleBeer’s silhouette vanished into the churning black mist.
Riley stood at the side of the mist, eyes narrowed as she stared into the dark.
A few minutes later.
Rapid footsteps echoed from the mist, accompanied by angry roars,
“ROAR–H!”
“They’re coming!”
Riley barked. “Everyone, battle stations!”
The black mist swirled violently as a lithe figure burst out.
It was Pineapple Beer!
She was sprinting, looking back to make a face. “Lululu! Come get me, you dumb dogs!”
Obviously, PineappleBeer wasn’t a natural at taunting; she looked like a serious person trying her best to be ridiculous.
Behind her, two massive, red–eyed Shadow Direwolves (Lv. 15) burst out, completely ignoring the strange wooden structure ahead.
Hiding on the side, Riley timed her Charge perfectly.

She slammed into the two monsters, driving them toward the trap.
Feeling the glow, the two monsters finally realized something was wrong and tried to turn back.

BigMountain stepped up with his greatsword to block them, but he couldn’t hold them back alone; luckily, Pineapple Beer arrived just in time.
Between BigMountain and PineappleBeer, they managed to slow the monsters down until Riley’s Charge finished its cooldown.
Charge!
Riley lunged forward, shoving the two monster’s deeper into the funnel.
“They’re in!”
The moment the wolves entered the funnel,
“Pull!”
Riley yelled.
