Building My Empire in the Frozen Apocalypse (Riley Carter) novel Chapter 317

Chapter 317 Double Jump

“Boss, that Hope Guild guy must’ve left. He hasn’t shown up in ages.

One underling shuffled his cards and let out a mocking laugh. “What else can he do? He can’t cross this swamp. With Mark on guard, his poison potions are useless.”

“Ignore him. We stay here two more days, and we’ll drain every resource from this node. That’s a lot of contribution points.”

“What if his guild sends backup?”

“No need to panic.” The man they called “boss” glanced casually at his cards.

“I checked. Hope Guild is one of the weakest guilds. They only have around thirty members. I doubt they even unlocked their portal. Backup isn’t coming.”

“I win!”

While the men laughed loudly, the archer on duty spoke up.

“Boss, that guy is back. And he brought someone with him.”

“Oh?”

The boss looked down in confusion and then broke into a smirk.

He shouted arrogantly toward Riley, “What’s wrong? Had to grab a friend? Junk guilds like yours should stop wasting your time. You can’t get through here. This node belongs to Black Palm now.”

To his surprise, the woman across the swamp made no reply.

She burst into a sprint straight toward the swamp.

Her speed gave him an uneasy feeling. He could barely keep track of her movement.

A bright light flashed in Riley’s hand, and she summoned her snowboard.

“Shoot! Shoot now!” The boss yelled frantically.

Yet the arrows struggled to hit her. Even the shots that landed on her clothes dealt no real damage.

He glanced at Riley, hesitating for a moment like he had more to say.

“What is it? Just spit it out.”

“Truth is… I asked him to join us when we first built the guild.” ToxicReaper scratched the back of his neck. “We’re old teammates and fought side by side together.”
