The lead man felt the cold blade against his neck and did not dare to move an inch.
The last remaining underling tried to make a move, but Riley already threw her other axe.
The flying axe sliced straight into his chest. He instantly lost all strength and collapsed beside the platform, coughing up blood.
Purple bubbles gurgled up from the dark swamp water.
Three out of the four arrogant BlackPalm members already lay defeated.
The last one left was their boss, the man who’d kept his cool earlier. He did not dare to glance at Riley beside him, his body shaking nonstop.
“L-Let’s talk this over! It’s just one resource node! We have no hard feelings between us, and we never hurt any of your people.
“I’ll give you the node! BlackPalm and Hope Guild can stay out of each other’s way!”
He kept begging for mercy, hoping Riley would spare his life.
Riley did not rush to kill him or reply. The man mistakenly thought she was considering his words, so he quickly kept talking.
“Miss, we’re all humans struggling to survive out here. What happened with that glasses guy was just a misunderstanding.
“The other three are only badly injured. There’s no need to be so ruthless.”
A faint smile tugged at Riley’s lips.
These people were all the same. They bullied the weak and acted arrogant when they had the upper hand. But the second they fell into danger, they began to act pitiful.
“You’re right. They’re only wounded. They’re still breathing.”
Riley tilted her head and glanced at the three injured men lying messily on the ground. Her eyes were playful and cold.
“Since you’re still alive, did you message your guild leader? Or call for backup in the guild chat?”

Riley looked at the messages popping up nonstop on the screen. She did not feel annoyed. Instead, she thought it was very interesting.
This was what a guild was supposed to be.
These low-level resource nodes did not produce many materials. They also often changed hands because of fierce fights. Even so, they were good chances to train the guild members’ fighting ability and build trust between them.
It seemed like everyone could handle themselves just fine.
Suddenly, a new message popped up.
[ToxicReaper: Ugh, I’m so mad. Are the BlackPalm Guild guys crazy?!]
Riley focused her attention the moment she saw the name. She had a deep impression of him, and they had fought together in the monster forest.
[Knife: What happened? Did they mess with you?]
[ToxicReaper: It is worse than that. They just deliberately annoyed me. I found a high-tier herb resource node four kilometers west of my camp.]
[ToxicReaper: I slowly killed the guard monsters with my potions and took control of the node. I only left for a few hours to make medicine. When I came back, the BlackPalm people had seized my resource node!]
[OrderBoard: Damn! They cut the line? That’s unforgivable!]
[Table: You need backup?]
ToxicReaper often helped everyone with his professional skills and posted funny comments in the group. He was very popular, so many people replied to him at once.
[ToxicReaper: Don’t bother. My camp is way out in the middle of nowhere. No one is close enough.]

[ToxicReaper: I would accept it if they beat me fairly. But those people just acted nasty on purpose. I attacked their position several times. There were too many of them. I used poison and had slightly better gear, so I did not get hurt. But they have mages with poison resistance. My potions don’t work on them at all.]
[ToxicReaper: I could only watch them taunt me again and again. If I started a real fight, their large number would bring big risks.]
[Knife: They have poison resistance? Fine. Throw farm manure at them. I do not believe they can stand that smell.]
[OrderBoard: Manure doesn’t do damage. It still won’t let us break in.]
