Chapter 664 Shattered Star Core
Chapter 664 Shattered Star Core
The Gatekeeper’s knee armor shuddered, and its movements locked up again.
Riley’s axe blades finally bit into the core’s outer shell.
Crack.
A faint splitting sound cut through the air.
The silver light on the Gatekeeper’s chest flickered wildly for a split second.
It threw its arms upward, and every star track around them flared to life at once.
This time, it targeted Riley alone.

Dozens of silver lines shot up from the ground, snaking toward her limbs and neck to bind her down.
Riley didn’t retreat. She wedged her dual axes into the core’s crack and pried them hard outward.
“Tart!”
TartKing instantly swapped to her staff, casting Silent Bell Blessing on Riley before firing off a heal to patch up the wounds the silver lines had torn open.
The silver lines tightened more and more.
Riley’s HP kept dropping steadily.
Pineapple Beer lifted her hand.
Thin strands of silver–gray light gathered at her fingertips.
The light fell onto the ground. Instead of getting swallowed by the star tracks, it crawled backward along the lines, like it was rewriting their set paths.
The glowing lines under the Gatekeeper’s feet stalled.
The dragging force holding Riley loosened for a brief moment.
It was just enough time for her to push harder.

Chapter 664 Shattered Star Core
Riley twisted her Storm Splitter Dual Axes outward violently.
The crack in the core stretched wider.
Pineapple Beer’s figure vanished once again.

She reappeared directly in front of the Gatekeeper’s chest, driving her short blade deep into the split Riley had opened.
The blade tip sank fully into the core.
A burst of silver light exploded outward.
Pineapple Beer lifted her eyes, her voice so quiet it was almost impossible to hear.
Dark shadow burst open from inside the core.
Half of the star lines covering the Gatekeeper’s body flickered out and died.
Seizing the opening, TartKing hefted her Frosted Judgment Greatsword high and smashed it down toward the Gatekeeper’s sword–wielding hand.
The blade crashed home.
Boom!
The long blade slipped out of its grip and clanged down onto the silver lines on the ground.
Riley let go of one axe, grabbed the Gatekeeper’s chest plate firmly with her hand, and drove her remaining axe straight into the core.
Vitality Siphon proc’d.
A chunk of her lost HP regenerated instantly.
The Gatekeeper’s body shook violently.
One by one, the seven stone pillars lit up, trying to funnel it fresh energy and repair its core.
The silver–gray light in Pineapple Beer’s eyes grew deeper and denser.
She pressed her palm flat against the Gatekeeper’s chest. A razor–thin slit opened in the air all around her.
For a split second, endless darkness seeped out from behind that slit.

Standing closest, Riley’s heart skipped a beat.
She caught sight of a blurry shadow standing directly behind Pineapple Beer.
It was faint, almost transparent.
Like it existed in a whole separate layer of
space.

It had the exact same silhouette and eyes as Pineapple Beer, yet far colder and stranger.
The shadow vanished in the blink of an eye.
Riley didn’t let herself get distracted.
No matter what that thing was, now was not the time to hesitate.
“Tart, the lamp!”
TartKing understood immediately.
The stone lamp was still feeding the Gatekeeper power.
She spun around, dragging her greatsword across the ground as she charged toward the central stone lamp.
The searing silver–white flames washed over her, heating her protective charm until it glowed brightly. She didn’t slash at the flames. Instead, she slammed the flat of her greatsword hard against the lamp’s base.
Judgment Slam triggered once more.
A crack split the lamp’s base open.
The flames wavered unsteadily.
The Gatekeeper’s core repair speed slowed noticeably.
Riley brought both her axes crashing down at the same time.
The shadow inside the core swirled and tightened under PineappleBeer’s influence.
Crack-!
The silver core split cleanly in two.

The faint light inside its helmet dimmed and died. Its massive armor started cracking apart from the chest outward, breaking into countless silver light fragments. The shards drifted to the ground and then flowed back into the stone plate along the star tracks.
Its long blade dissolved into light as well.
The seven stone pillars stopped trembling.
The flames on the central stone lamp shrank back to the wick, fading into a quiet pale silver glow.
The locked star track domain was lifted.
The Orbit Star Chart floated down from mid–air and settled back into Riley’s hand.
None of the three moved an inch.
TartKing stayed frozen in the pose she’d used to strike the lamp, her chest heaving heavily. She stared at the scattered silver light on the ground and confirmed no new battle system prompts popped up. Then her legs gave out and she plopped down beside the stone lamp.
“It’s dead?”
Riley glanced around at the faded silver lines.
“Looks like it.”
