The vortex warped its giant claw out of shape, its bone–armor flaking off piece by piece. Even so, the claw cut straight through the chaotic currents, charging for Pineapple Beer.
Riley’s pupils contracted sharply.
Her body moved on instinct.
But the brutal aftereffects weighed her down, slowing her just enough to miss the timing.
TartKing lifted her Frosted Judgment Greatsword to block. Halfway through her raise, the spacetime turbulence pulled by the claw’s shadow crushed her down to her knees.
Pineapple Beer reacted fastest among everyone there.
She lifted her crystal to defend herself.
The crystal glowed faintly once before dimming completely.
The giant claw closed around her in an instant.
“Pine!” TartKing screamed at the top of her lungs.
Riley hefted her axe in a desperate surge of strength.
She thought of nothing in that split second.
Her left arm was useless, but her right hand still clutched one axe tightly.
She channeled every last trace of her remaining strength and hurled the axe with all her might.
The axe flew out of her grasp.
Carrying the last wisp of dark red flame, the blade sliced straight for the Time Wraith Star- Eater Beast’s claw.
The strike landed true.
A deep gash split open the back of the claw.
But it was too late. The giant claw already locked onto Pineapple Beer and got fully swept into the churning vortex.

The axe lodged in the claw’s wound and vanished into the vortex right along with it.
Still, the impact jolted the monster loose from its hold.

Riley sprinted forward two steps and reached out for PineappleBeer, only catching a torn scrap of her cloak.
Pineapple Beer barely broke free for half a second before the vortex’s suction spiked violently, yanking her straight into its depths.
Her body was covered in fresh blood. Faint shimmering light from her shattered crystal coiled around her wrist. The Storm Splitter Axe stuck out above the giant claw, as if still fighting to cut down the force holding her captive.
The bright light within the vortex bathed her face in a pale, stark glow.
TartKing crumpled on the spot, barely able to stand through her tears.
“Pine!”
Riley stretched her hand out, her fingertips sliced open and bleeding from the raging currents.
She tried to push forward further.
But Pineapple Beer looked back at them and suddenly smiled.
This time, her eyes were bright.
“Don’t worry.“”
Her voice broke apart in the vortex’s howl, yet still reached their ears clearly.
“I’ll see you in the Wide Realm.”
Riley froze.
TartKing’s crying cut short too.
Pineapple Beer lifted her uninjured hand like she was going to wave. In the end, she only curled her fingers gently.
“I’m definitely going to survive.”
She glanced at Riley, then at TartKing.

Her smile grew softer and clearer.
“Because now… I’m not just living for myself anymore.”
The spacetime vortex constricted sharply.

Pineapple Beer, the mangled remains of the Time Wraith Star–Eater Beast, and the Storm Splitter Axe embedded in its claw were all swallowed into the vortex’s depths.
A faint silver–gray light flickered once in the vortex’s core.
Then it vanished completely.
TartKing stayed frozen in her forward lunge, both hands tight around the hilt of her Frosted Judgment Greatsword.
The greatsword was jammed into the stone ground, its surface sparking nonstop from scraping against the spacetime currents.
Riley stood half a step in front of her, her right hand still stretched toward the swirling vortex.
Her fingertips were covered in fresh cuts. The second blood welled up, it got swept away into the air.
There was no sign of Pineapple Beer in the vortex anymore.
No sign of the Time Wraith Star–Eater Beast.
Not even the axe she’d thrown remained in sight.
Riley stared blankly at the vortex, momentarily lost and unsure what to do.
TartKing suddenly spoke up.
“What… what did Pine just say?”
“She said we’ll meet again in the Wide Realm,” Riley finally replied, her voice low and steady.
TartKing stared at her in confusion.
“But where’s the Wide Realm? I’ve never heard of it.”
Riley didn’t answer.
She hadn’t heard of it either.

It must’ve been something Pineapple Beer learned after regaining her lost memories.
Riley lowered her hand, slowly clenching her fingers into a tight fist.
“She said she’s going to live.”
TartKing’s lips trembled.
“She always said everything was fine before too.”
“This is different.”
Riley lifted her gaze toward the vortex.
“I believe her.”
