Chapter 715 Restored Supplies

Joseph still looked shaken at the memory.

“Monsters swarmed everywhere back then. The crate landed at least 40 yards away from our new gate. The second it spawned, it drew every nearby monster over

“The elemental crystals gave off a strong aura. The monsters bit at the crate and nearly dragged the whole supply haul away.”

TartKing’s heart tightened. “How did you get it back then?”

Everyone in the wooden shelter turned to look at Neeko at the same time.

Neeko’s ears flushed red again.

“I took on Riley’s form and went outside,” she mumbled. “C.P. charged over with me. Twiggy dragged the crate back with vines. Jack and the others fired arrows from the wall. Joseph threw lots of firebombs.”

Jack corrected her. “Not lots. It was our last batch of finished firebombs. We used every single one in that fight.”

Lily’s mouth twitched at the thought of the loss. “I lost all my wine bottles too.”

Joseph shot her a glance. “Didn’t you laugh louder than anyone when C.P. absorbed those beast cores afterward?”

The tense atmosphere in the shelter finally lightened a little.

A young guard just returned from delivering arrows and couldn’t help but chime in. “C.P. was incredible that day! After absorbing the cores, its flames flared higher than the rooftop. One paw strike melted the snow right off the ground.

“It charged straight into the monster horde, bit a huge beast’s neck clean through, and burned the ice-spitting monster on the north side to ash!”

Another teen carrying arrow crates nodded. “It really grew bigger! I watched from the wall. It was twice its usual size, with fire blazing on its back like a cape.”

C.P. half-opened its eyes.

It seemed to understand the praise. Its tail swept slowly across the ground, then froze mid-sweep when the movement tugged its wounds. It acted like nothing had happened.

Riley reached out and stroked the base of its ear.

“Showed off so hard you burned yourself up like this?”

Joseph let out a sigh. “That batch of supplies saved us. Powered by those cores, C.P. held off several massive monster waves one after another. The elemental crystals also recharged the Intermediate Elemental Altar and multiple defensive structures.

“But there were endless monsters. We got worn down day by day. By last night, the remaining cores could barely keep C.P’s flames lit. That’s when it started losing ground and getting injured.”

C.P. turned its head to the side.

Riley scratched its chin before pulling her hand away and turning toward the map.

Every person in the shelter lifted their head at those words. Riley was their only hope

Riley opened her system panel.

The familiar translucent interface popped up. A large portion of the camp construction page was grayed out. Many areas once under her control were now marked “Lost Zone”, “Monster Occupied”, and “Construction Unavailable”.

Only the innermost circle remained accessible, basically the immediate area around her camp.

It covered the main house, tool shed, ruined warehouse, medical hut, wooden cabins, and the connecting section of the Guild Residence.

The outer zones that once fell under the camp’s temperature stabilization range had lost system control after being occupied by monster hordes for so long.

Faint red prompts flashed at the panel’s edge, stating that construction access would only be restored after clearing the monsters and rebuilding stable defensive lines.

Riley’s gaze turned cold as she sorted through the current situation.

They lacked manpower, stamina, and materials to push back the monsters right now. Both she and TartKing were in poor condition and needed rest.

Stabilizing their current position was the priority before planning any counterattack.

She opened the storage chest inside her main house.

Rows of categorized grids stretched out before her eyes.

This was her highest-authority personal storage, completely off-limits to the native survivors.

Up until now, the natives had only survived on the rations Riley had distributed and their own harvested crops, both of which were nearly exhausted.

Frozen meat, flour, potatoes, dried berries, canned meat, honey, compressed biscuits, and seasonings filled the grids. Lily’s eyes widened at the abundant supplies.
