Chapter 252 The Will
“Curtis is here. He’s right outside,” Jeremy said quickly, trying to reassure Harold,
But after the butler went out, Curtis still didn’t come in.
He was clearly… right outside.
Tears slid from the corners of Harold’s eyes. He knew Curtis resented him, hated him….
And it was all his own doing.

“Dad, at a time like this, why do you even need to see him?” Michael said anxiously. “Hurry up and make the will. Leave all the assets to me!”
Jeremy, the butler, and the others all glared at Michael in anger. In his eyes, there was nothing but profit. not the slightest trace of father–son affection.
But Harold’s gaze never left the doorway.
Deep down, he probably hoped Curtis would come in and see him one last time.
“The will…” Harold said hoarsely, his voice barely more than a breath.
Michael looked at the lawyer in excitement. “What are you standing around for? Hurry up and come over!”
The lawyer took out the recording equipment. “I’m sorry. Anyone involved in the will must step out.”
Michael was displeased. “We won’t say anything. Just get on with it.”
Harold looked at the lawyer. “The will … stays the same.”
After saying that, Harold closed his eyes.
The heart monitor let out a sharp, piercing screech.
All the machines began sounding alarms at once.
Nurses and doctors rushed in to resuscitate him, but it was already too late.
Outside the hospital room, Curtis sat on a bench, gripping Adriana’s hand tightly.
Adriana could feel the damp sweat in his palm.
She knew that at this moment, Curtis was suffering more than anyone.
That was his grandfather. The man who had raised him since childhood. Harold was probably the only salvation Curtis had during a painful, dark childhood.

“Mr. Harold… is gone,” the butler, Ernest, said as he came out, choking up and lowering his head.
Curtis seemed to lose all strength. He let go of Adriana’s hand and stood up, walking toward the hospital
room.
Adriana wanted to comfort him, but she didn’t know how to begin.
The reason he hadn’t gone in was to let Harold know…
“What do you mean? What do you mean the will stays the same?” Michael asked in shock, then burst out excitedly. “Did he already make a will before, leaving everything to me? Hahaha…”
While everyone else was grieving, Michael looked delighted and smug. He sneered at Curtis as he walked in from outside. “Curtis, your grandpa made the will a long time ago. He left all the inheritance to me. You’re finished!”
Curtis looked at Michael coldly. He’s such an idiot… It’s ridiculous.
“Your father just died, and you’re already fighting over the inheritance and the will. Are you even Jeremy said angrily, his breathing growing uneven from rage.
Justin hurried over to support Jeremy. “Grandpa, don’t get upset. Your health isn’t good either.”
Jeremy’s eyes reddened. He sighed, shook his head, and left the hospital room.
After the doctors finished their checks, they officially issued the death notice.
The doctor didn’t hand the death certificate to Michael to sign. Instead, he gave it to Curtis. Curtis was silent for a moment. Then he raised his hand and signed the death certificate.
Harold’s funeral was simple, but many people came to pay their respects.
Adriana stood beside Curtis, watching the steady stream of mourners coming to see Harold off.
“The funeral’s over. Shouldn’t it be time to announce the inheritance?” Michael only cared about the estate. Once most people had left, he loudly urged the lawyers to announce it.
Several lawyers exchanged looks, then turned to Curtis.
“Mr. Harold left a will during his lifetime,” the lead lawyer said solemnly. He opened a secure briefcase ar took the will out.
“The will states that all assets of the Lincolns are to be inherited by Mr. Curtis.”
As soon as the lawyer finished speaking, Michael froze.
He stood there, stunned for a long moment. “What? Did you read the wrong name? Take a good look!”

Michael completely lost control and grabbed the lawyer by the collar. “Did you read it wrong? My dad already changed the will. Didn’t he leave everything to me? Why would it go to Curtis?
“Denton, you’re the one in charge of the Lincolns now. You control Lincoln Group. Say something. Say the assets are mine. Say your grandpa left them to me!” Michael went berserk, yanking Denton toward him.
Denton glanced at Michael indifferently. “Dad, Grandpa leaving everything to Curtis was the right choice.” Michael couldn’t control his emotions and slapped Denton across the face.
Denton looked at Michael coldly.
Michael shouted in rage, “I’m your father, your dad! How can you side with an outsider?”
“He’s your son too!” Denton shouted back, his emotions finally breaking.
Michael froze where he stood, unable to say a word for a long time..
He was unwilling to accept it, but everything was already settled.
He clenched his teeth, then finally turned to Curtis. “Curtis, I’m your dad. Your grandfather left everything to you. You can’t possibly leave me with nothing, right? At least give me something. Just a little, okay?”
