Luckily, Kenneth had called the local staff and housekeeper ahead of time. The servant had already cleaned the entire house from top to bottom, inside and out.

“Wow!” Yolanda stepped into the living room, touching everything. “How much did Curtis leave you?”

Realizing she had said his name again, she quickly covered her mouth and glanced at Adriana.

Adriana was sitting by the window, staring outside, lost in thought.

“Can I talk to Adriana alone?” Curtis’s voice spoke again.

Yolanda jumped so hard she nearly fainted.

Adriana finally saw him. She jumped to her feet, both panicked and thrilled. Her eyes turned red in an

instant.

He had gone abroad too.

It had been a long time since they last saw each other. Curtis looked a bit thinner, but overall, he seemed okay.

Yolanda stood frozen for a moment before it finally clicked–Curtis had faked his death.

She let out a long breath, whispered, “Thanks God,” like a prayer, and ran out of the living room.

Adriana threw herself into Curtis’s arms, tears in her eyes. “Are you hurt?”

Curtis smiled and gently patted her hair. “I’m fine. Pretty much back to normal.”

If he hadn’t recovered, Justin and the others wouldn’t have allowed him to come see her.

Adriana held him tightly and didn’t want to let go.

Adriana nodded, speaking into his shoulder with a muffled voice. “I knew you were alive…”

Curtis led her to the couch and pulled her close. “I just want to be with you during the early months of your pregnancy.”
