Bullied and Dumped, But She Won in the End (Adriana) novel Chapter 64

**When Time Tried to Heal Me But I Refused to Listen by Kael Niro Senn**

**Chapter 64: First Night Tension**

Adriana sat in the bathroom, her heart racing as a sense of unease washed over her. It felt as though she had stumbled into an intricately woven trap, one that was both enticing and terrifying.

But that can’t be true—Curtis isn’t like that. He’s not a creep… Maybe I’m just overthinking everything.

“Th-then… let’s get to work tonight,” Adriana finally whispered, her voice barely above a murmur, barely masking her apprehension.

A soft smile tugged at Curtis’s lips, his eyes sparkling with an understanding that made her pulse quicken. “Okay,” he replied, his tone light, yet laden with unspoken promises.

As she felt the heat rise to her cheeks, she hesitated for a moment, then slipped into the bathroom, a whirlwind of conflicting emotions swirling inside her.

Am I really going to sleep with Curtis tonight? The thought sent a shiver down her spine.

“Adriana, are you all right?” Curtis called out, his voice echoing softly in the quiet of the living room. He had been waiting for her for over an hour, and still, she hadn’t emerged.

“1-I’m fine…” she stammered, finally opening the bathroom door. A thick cloud of steam billowed out, wrapping around her like a shroud.

She stood there, wrapped in a bathrobe, her damp hair framing her face, which bore the marks of her anxiety.

Curtis’s gaze fell on her, and for a moment, he was struck by her beauty. She was a captivating blend of cute and alluring, far more enchanting than many actresses he had encountered in his life.

“Why didn’t you dry your hair?” he asked, his voice softer than he intended, revealing a hint of concern.

“It’ll be dry soon…” Adriana replied, wanting to add that she had already towel-dried it thoroughly, but her words faltered.

Curtis remained silent, his expression thoughtful. He took her hand gently, leading her back into the bathroom to dry her hair himself, a gesture that sent butterflies fluttering in her stomach.

Warm air enveloped her as he turned on the blow dryer, and her heart raced with a mix of excitement and nerves.

She wasn’t that innocent girl anymore… even her first time with Matthew hadn’t left her feeling this flustered.

In the mirror, she watched Curtis as he worked, his movements natural and practiced. Did he learn this from caring for Belinda’s mother? The thought lingered in her mind, both curious and unsettling.

“Curtis, have you… been with anyone else?” Adriana ventured cautiously, her voice barely a whisper once he turned off the blow dryer, the question hanging in the air between them like a fragile crystal.

Curtis didn’t respond immediately, instead ruffling her hair playfully, a gesture that left her confused.

What does that mean?

Belinda had told her that Curtis was a man who never allowed women to get close—so had he actually been with her mother?

Adriana blinked, her curiosity growing stronger. He’s 29—there’s no way he’s never touched a woman, right? That just doesn’t seem plausible.

“Curious?” Curtis chuckled when he caught her staring, a playful glint in his eyes.

“Yes,” she replied eagerly, her innate curiosity bubbling to the surface.

“The answer’s no…” Curtis said, clearing his throat lightly as he took her hand, leading her out of the bathroom.

Adriana felt her heart skip a beat. She was screaming inside, This 29-year-old CEO has never been with a woman? Is he really that innocent?

Or is there something he can’t talk about?

Still reeling from the revelation, she recalled Curtis’s earlier suggestion in the car about IVF. Could it be that he truly couldn’t perform?

“Curtis…” Adriana breathed, flustered and overwhelmed by the intensity of the moment.

In an attempt to ease the awkwardness, she clung to him tightly, feeling small and delicate in his embrace.

At five-foot-five, she felt almost fragile against his strong frame, her slim waist fitting perfectly within his grip.

Curtis was tender with her, his touch gentle, never rough, even as they embarked on this journey to create a child.

Adriana felt a warmth radiate through her entire being, an emotion she had never encountered before, one that left her breathless.

“Curtis…”

Fearful, she whispered his name, her voice thick with nervousness.

Curtis was attuned to her feelings, kissing her softly to calm her racing heart.

Once he sensed her relaxing, he moved forward with a gentle determination.

That night, Adriana felt her mind go blissfully blank; all her painful memories and past recollections faded into the background.

She had no time to ponder anything else.

She even found herself wondering, Has Curtis really never been with another woman? Where did he learn all of this?

“Are you feeling okay?”

Afterward, Curtis didn’t leave her side immediately. Even though the hour was late, he carried her to the shower, his concern palpable as he asked if she felt any pain or discomfort.
