Chapter 179 The Talk
Nella’s eyes locked onto Alfred’s, leaving him no room to dodge.
“Three years. Not a minute less. Not a second less. Those were your words.”
She paused. “By the same logic, not a minute more. Not a second more.
“I’m someone who honors contracts. I hope you are too, Mr. Keywood.”
After Nella finished speaking, Alfred was so angry he laughed.
She had turned the very words he once used to block her straight back on him.
And he had no way to refute them.
In the end, he was the one who backed down first, yet still asked unwillingly,
“What am I lacking compared to that Marshal?”
Nella was utterly stunned.
Is he out of his mind?
Why is he always competing with a puppy?
And now he’s comparing himself to Marshal.
The difference is huge!
Marshal is warm, attentive, and fun.
If I’m really comparing them, Alfred is miles behind him.
From the look on Nella’s face, Alfred clearly saw her disdain.
Before she could say anything, he cut her off.
“Forget it. You don’t need to answer.”
He gave a self-mocking smile. “I know. In your heart, I can’t compare to Marshal at all.”
Nella felt Alfred was being unusually self-aware for once.
“Glad you know your place.”
Leaving behind words that pierced straight through Alfred’s heart, Nella turned and walked away,
Alfred didn’t stop her, but followed quietly behind her.
Finished
At six-foot-three, with his striking looks and presence, he should’ve been imposing. But now he just looked like a scolded puppy trailing behind Nella, drawing the attention of passersby.

Chapter 179 The Talk
Not far away, Nella even noticed several young women secretly taking photos in their direction.
Finished
They huddled together, excitedly whispering about something, their eyes full of admiration as they looked at Alfred.
Nella stopped and glanced sideways at the man next to her.
She finally lost her patience and asked Alfred, “What exactly do you want?”
Alfred looked at her with dark, aggrieved eyes and softened his tone.
“Get in the car. Let’s talk.”
Before Nella could refuse, he added, “Didn’t you want a divorce? Let’s talk it through. If we come to an agreement, we can do it.”
“For real?”
Nella looked at Alfred with clear distrust.
Seeing that look only made Alfred feel even more stifled.
Suppressing the irritation in his chest, he nodded once and gave a low hum.
Nella lowered her eyes and thought for a few seconds, then nodded.
“Alright.”
Seeing her agree didn’t bring Alfred the satisfaction he’d imagined.
He never thought that one day, he’d have to use “divorce” as leverage just to get Nella to talk to him properly.
He laughed at himself silently and walked with Nella toward the car parked along the curb.
