Chapter 245 Regis Comes In
They were stunned the moment they saw Alfred.
Finished
He was hunched over with his shoulders caved in. His face looked drained, and his eyes were bloodshot.
He looked like one wrong word would make him fall apart on the spot.
“How’s Nella doing?”
Regis stepped forward, his tone heavy.
Jasmine’s expression shifted the second she saw him. “Hello, Regis.”
“Hey. Now, tell me, how is Nella doing?”
His voice stayed soft.
Jasmine hadn’t asked about Nella yet. She’d been too focused on ripping into Alfred. She turned her head and glared at him.
“Ask him.”
She jabbed a finger toward Alfred as her tone iced over.
Alfred didn’t react. He looked hollow, like he wasn’t even in the room.
Regis shook his head and sighed.
“I said he’d end up regretting this.”
When Nella woke up, the sterile hospital smell was the first thing that hit her.
Her mind felt foggy. Her eyelids were heavy as she struggled to lift them.
She glanced around and caught sight of Regis.
“Regis?”
Her voice came out hoarse, barely above a whisper.
Regis jumped up as soon as he heard her. “Hey, sweetheart
Nella blinked again, trying to process where she was. “Regis… why am I here?”
“You’re at Everwell. You passed out at the ski lodge. Alfred brought you in.”
Her memory started coming back. She slowly pushed herself up.
“I kicked Alfred out.”

Chapter 245 Regis Comes In
Regis said it plainly, without emotion.
Finished
Then he let out a long breath. “Nella, Jasmine told me everything that happened in Glacieroth. We failed you. Everyone in the family owes you an apology.”
His face was tight with guilt. His voice cracked just a little.
“Don’t say that, Regis. It wasn’t your fault.”
Nella shook her head fast as she spoke.
“Alfred was always the golden kid. None of you ever had to worry about him. You didn’t know he’d completely lose his mind over Zoey. I’m sorry I got caught in it.”
Nella looked down and kept shaking her head.
“Really, Regis. Don’t blame yourself. Actually…”
She paused for a second. Her voice dropped as she continued.
“I need to tell you something. I’m sorry, but … Alfred and I were never really married. It was fake.”
She’d made up her mind. He deserved the truth.
He’d always treated her like family. She couldn’t lie to him now.
She was about to divorce Alfred anyway. Regis needed to know.
