“It won’t affect you,” Alfred said calmly. “If anything happens, I’ll take full responsibility. It has nothing to do with you, okay?”
He leaned down a little so he was at eye level with Nella.
He moved closer to her bag, as if he wanted to make sure she heard every word clearly.
“Okay,” Nella said.
She nodded with relief. Her smile looked more genuine now.
She had planned to ask Jasmine to watch Marshal for a while. But since Alfred said she could bring him along, she didn’t need to trouble anyone. Marshal could stay with her.
Seeing the light smile in Nella’s eyes, Alfred didn’t know whether he should feel happy or sad.
The anniversary gala was held in the company’s grand hall.
The whole family was there.
Besides the family, many guests were invited-shareholders, long-term business partners, and well-known figures from politics and society.
Outside the building, invited reporters had arrived early. Camera flashes went off nonstop.
Inside the hall, a massive crystal chandelier shone brightly overhead.
Tall towers of champagne gave off a sweet scent.
As the lights swept across the room, everything reflected a soft golden glow.
Guests gathered together, chatting and raising glasses.
On the giant screen, a video played, showing the Keywood Group’s journey and success over the past decades.
It was a night to witness the glory of the Keywood empire.
Just then, a Bentley slowly pulled up in front of the hall.
A reporter shouted, “Mr. Keywood is here!”

At once, the media rushed forward.
Cameras were raised high, flashing toward the car door that had not yet opened.
Then the door opened.
“Mr. Keywood-”
But when everyone saw who stepped out, the excitement froze for a few seconds.
It wasn’t Alfred and his wife. It was the Macks.
Only then did the reporters notice that this Bentley’s license plate was not Alfred’s.
Zoey stepped out of the car, dragging her heavy evening gown behind her.
“Hello, everyone,” she said, smiling brightly as she waved at the cameras.
The reporters quickly recognized her.
Wasn’t she the heiress who had recently let people assume she was Mrs. Keywood?
The reporters exchanged looks. Their eyes soon filled with curiosity and gossip.
What would happen later when the real Mrs. Keywood showed up? Would there be some juicy drama between the two women?
They gave Zoey plenty of attention and took several photos of her.
