Nella didn’t mention how Alfred had threatened to withdraw the divorce to pressure her. She simply nodded and said, “Yeah. With that much money, it’d be waste not to take it.”

She spoke jokingly, then glanced down at the time and said, “I have to go.”

“Alright. Be careful on the way.”

Watching Nella leave, Wesley stood where he was, his eyes gradually darkening.

Just then, his phone rang.

Wesley withdrew his gaze, picked up the phone, and glanced at the screen. A trace of coldness flickered in his eyes.

He answered, “Hello?”

Whatever was said on the other end made impatience surface on his face.

“I know. I have my ways. You’d better not do anything. If you mess this up, don’t blame me for not giving you a chance.”

With that, Wesley hung up.

Putting his phone away, he leaned casually against the corridor railing, hands resting on it. From here, he could still see Nella’s figure walking toward the edge of campus.

He lingered, staring in the direction she had left, then, with no expression, looked away, turned, and walked

off.

“Camelia, what are you staring at?”

Someone gave Camelia a hard pat on the shoulder, starting her.

She pointed in Wesley’s direction and asked, “Who is that?”

“Oh, you mean Dr. Keywood?”

“Keywood?”

Camelia’s heart skipped.

“Same last name as yours.”

Her companion replied. “Dr. Keywood was just hired back from overseas. He teaches neurosurgery in our department. Why do you ask? Got your eye on him?”

Seeing Camelia staring thoughtfully at Wesley’s back, her companion teased her with a grin.

“Same last name, huh? What a coincidence…”

Camelia looked pensive. Hearing the teasing, she rolled her eyes.

“You know me. I’m only into puppy-type guys.”

Come on. With Dr. Keywood’s looks, how is he worse than your skinny little puppies?”

“Don’t you dare insult my puppies.”

Camelia bantered with her friend, but her mind stayed fixed on Wesley’s extremely familiar face.

Why did that face look so much like her dad’s?

Oh no.

Don’t tell me he’s Dad’s illegitimate son?

Looks similar, same last name.

Camelia didn’t dare think further.

A sense of impending family disaster washed over her.

Her parents had been in love for so many years. Just a few days ago, her dad had said he wanted to take her mom on a round-the-world trip, just the two of them. If an illegitimate son suddenly appeared now…
