Chapter 422 Wesley’s Father

Finished

She strode out of the hospital building without looking back, and Wesley silently followed her.

At that moment, a tall man wearing a simple casual jacket walked toward them.

Nella recognized him immediately.

He was the middle-aged man who had been rescued by Jasmine in Seldoria last time.

Back then, because Nella acted quickly, she had pulled him under the steel hospital bed, letting him avoid the falling rubble.

That move had kept him alive until the rescue team arrived, and he survived by sheer luck.

“Dr. Milo,” the man greeted Nella.

He spoke sincerely, expressing his thanks. But surprisingly, his gaze shifted to Wesley.

There was a mix of emotions there-some hard-to-describe guilt.

He walked up to Wesley and spoke slowly, “Hello, Mr. Wesley.”

Wesley looked at him and recognized him as the same man who’d been rescued in Seldoria.

When the three of them were pulled out from under the rubble, this man had the least severe injuries.

Wesley remembered that it was Nella who had pushed him under the bed, preventing him from being crushed by the falling debris.

Wesley didn’t exactly have a good impression of him, so his expression wasn’t exactly friendly.

“Who are you?” he asked.

“I’m Inspector Kayson Nabor, direct supervisor of Bryce Howell,” the man replied.

The name Bryce Howell was very familiar to Wesley.

Tolina had whispered it in his ear for over twenty years.

His father, the street punk who had been brutally beaten to death by the Keywoods, dying in a horrible way, was named Bryce Howell.

Yet looking at the man in front of him and hearing his introduction, Wesley couldn’t understand what it meant at first.

Direct supervisor?

Inspector?

Wesley truly could not comprehend how these terms could be connected to a thug.

He stared at Kayson, confused and uncertain, thinking the man had the wrong person.

Before he could speak, Kayson continued, “That’s right. It’s your father, Bryce. I was his direct supervisor and his handler.”

Kayson’s words made Nella, who had been about to walk away, stop instinctively.

She realized faster than Wesley the truth about his father’s real identity.

“Your father, Bryce, was an undercover agent sent by the International Crime Force into Lincoln’s crime syndicate,” Kayson said.

What Kayson said confirmed Nella’s earlier guess.

She quickly looked at Wesley. He froze. The calm, indifferent expression on his face was replaced by shock and disbelief.

“His identity was discovered by Lincoln. Our people tried to rescue him, but it was too late. Later, his body was found on the high seas. Because of confidentiality, your father’s identity was never officially announced,” Kayson explained.

From Kayson’s words, they finally understood the real reason Wesley’s father, Bryce, had died.
