Maxwell Griffith shot her a dark glare. Maxwell’s features contorted, a storm of suppressed fury clouding his handsome face.
Timothy was even more devastated. More than a decade of scheming had all come to nothing.
Mr. Griffith Sr. and the old madam truly showed no mercy.
"Natalie, you're really something! I seriously underestimated you. Now, I'm going to make you pay for what you did today."
Natalie couldn't help but laugh. "Chairman Griffith, let me remind you of something. Your company has been running the same way for ten years. You're complacent, and that's why you've already lost."
Timothy was speechless.
"You…"
He flung his hand in fury and stormed out.
Natalie let out a deep breath, finally able to relax.
Suddenly, a pleasant laugh broke the silence.
It was Caleb's melodious laughter at her ear.
Luna, watching Natalie, also couldn't help but smile.
Tyler and Ethan were trying to hold back their own laughter.
Natalie blushed, her eyes flickering as she explained with some awkwardness, "What are you all laughing at? You think this is easy for me? It's been a long time since I've been in a confrontation like this. I was actually pretty nervous."
Caleb looked at her intently. She was so endearing. "But you were amazing just now, Natalie. What surprised me even more is how brilliant you are."
Natalie looked weary. "To reach this level of brilliance, I had to endure every hardship for the first fifteen years of my life."
"I was up at 5:30 a.m. every day. Besides eating and using the restroom, I spent basically twelve hours a day studying."
"And besides, there's no such thing as a genius. There's only relentless, nonstop effort."
"Every morning, I practiced different languages. At noon, I studied finance. I continued in the afternoon. At night, I worked out and spent two hours learning how to drive. My life was completely filled with everything I wanted to learn."
Everyone was speechless.
Luna was exasperated. "Natalie, who carries their divorce decree around like a souvenir?"
Natalie looked at the divorce decree and smiled happily. "Oh, Luna, the best way to honor life is to spend every day doing something meaningful."
"Time is too short, and it slips through our fingers. I shouldn't waste my best years on something that isn't the best for me."
"I'm beautiful and brilliant. There are endless wonderful things waiting for me."
Luna blinked.
Caleb, however, smiled with pure joy. "You're still young, Natalie. You can still find someone better."
Natalie thought so too. From now on, she wouldn't let her divorce throw her into anxiety.
Natalie smiled at them and couldn't help but sigh contentedly. "Ah… the future is so bright!"
