Sebastian smiled mysteriously. "Slip it into Maxwell's food."
"Oh..." Sean's eyes lit up with wicked delight. "Boss, is this exactly what I think it is?"
Sebastian's smile turned predatory. "Exactly. Joanna is insatiable. If Maxwell can't perform, she’ll stray. She’s under a lot of mental pressure, and seeking out cheap thrills is her favorite way to blow off steam."
"If Maxwell fails her in bed, she’ll inevitably look for another man. They constantly declare their undying love for each other, but the truth is, they don't love each other at all. They just put on a show to convince themselves."
Sean looked puzzled. "Boss, if you can read other people's relationships so perfectly, why can't you figure out your own heart? You clearly have feelings for Natalie. Why did you treat her so terribly?"
Some damage, once inflicted, could never be undone.
Sebastian frowned, his expression clouding. "Why all the questions? Just go get this done, and come back early."
Sean lived for this kind of petty sabotage. He grinned, rummaged through the glove compartment, and pulled out another small box of pills. Donning a hyper-realistic silicone disguise, he looked back at Sebastian. "Boss, I'll take you upstairs first. Then I'll head straight to the hospital."
Sebastian eyed the box Sean had just pulled out and noted his wicked grin. "What else did you grab?"
"Oh... nothing," Sean chuckled evasively. It was just a little something to help Maxwell and Joanna 'cool off.'
He didn't elaborate. Truth be told, Natalie's medical kit was a treasure trove of wonders, with every vial meticulously labeled with its effects. These severe laxatives would give Joanna and Maxwell a much-needed cleanse—right down to their souls.
Sebastian knew Sean was up to no good, but he trusted his assistant's judgment.
His timing was impeccable. Joanna and Maxwell were just ordering a late-night delivery. Since Joanna was utterly useless in the kitchen, Maxwell was forced to stomach cheap takeout. It always gave him indigestion, but until his assistant could hire a private chef, he had no other choice.
Sean arrived at their hospital room dressed as a janitor, pushing a cleaning cart. He slipped inside with practiced ease, quietly going about his duties.
By pure luck, Maxwell went to use the restroom, and Joanna's phone rang. Not wanting to deal with the noise, Joanna rolled her wheelchair out into the hallway to take the call.
With both of them perfectly distracted, Sean seized the opportunity. He quickly spiked their food and slipped away into the night.
Joanna returned from her call and immediately dug into her favorite Pad Thai. Maxwell emerged from the bathroom shortly after and sat across from her, quietly eating his beef stew. Noticing her pale complexion, he kept his mouth shut to avoid ruining his own mood.
Only after he finished eating did he finally ask, "What's the status on Natalie?"
