Natalie’s smile was cold, her voice sharp. “If I’m not even worthy of your respect, then on what grounds are you demanding mine? And why on earth should I write a letter of forgiveness for your son?”
“Natalie, you…”
“That’s enough.”
Yves, who had been standing by, finally spoke, his voice a low growl.
He looked at Natalie, and she met his gaze.
He was dressed in a well-tailored suit. Though over fifty, he still possessed a unique, mature charm that women found irresistible.
But Natalie could clearly see the deep-seated cunning and hidden malice in his eyes.
“Ms. Sanders, my wife was raised in high society. She’s used to looking down on others and can be a bit arrogant. Please don't take it personally.”
“Ms. Sanders, I am sincerely here to negotiate a private settlement. Please give me a number, however much you want.”
Natalie looked at him and smiled serenely. “Mr. Spencer, I know you’re very wealthy. You look down on people like me, believing money can solve anything.”
“But I, Natalie, am not short on money. And I will certainly not forgive someone who tried to kill me.”
“Your son’s arrogant attitude was trending on social media this morning. Your company’s stock is plummeting. What does any of that have to do with me?”
“Ms. Sanders, my son is young and hot-headed. He didn't mean it. His brakes failed. Ms. Sanders, let’s just talk this out.”
Natalie refused to settle. She knew that if she caved, Marshall would fail too. He couldn’t win against his uncle alone.
