Bye-bye Trash! Hello Queen! novel Chapter 849

Natalie was stunned. There was a time when she had desperately hoped Sebastian would give her a bouquet of her favorite flowers. Roses symbolized love, and with a young girl's heart, she had longed for that romance. But, alas...

A bitter feeling pricked at Natalie's heart. She was finally getting them, but the eager anticipation she once felt was gone.

Still, she had always had a natural fondness for roses. They were enchanting, with a scent that wasn't overpowering but lingered beautifully.

Natalie accepted them with a smile, looking up at him. "Thank you."

Seeing her happy made him smile too. "I'm glad you like them."

Natalie was still surprised. "What made you suddenly decide to buy me flowers?" she asked, puzzled.

"I saw the roses in your study the other day and figured you liked them, so I bought you some. But for the record, this is the first time I've ever given a woman roses."

Natalie was speechless.

What was the point of that special declaration? Had he really never given any to Joanna? As far as she could remember, he hadn't.

She didn't ask. If she did, she'd lose her appetite for the rest of the night.

She placed the roses on the table. Looking at him, still chilled from the wind with snowflakes melting in his hair, she pointed upstairs. "Go wash up and change. Dinner's ready."

Sebastian nodded warmly. Seeing her happy put him in a good mood, and his voice was tinged with pleasure. "Okay."

Natalie paused for a second. That one word, "Okay," had sounded so gentle. She pressed her lips together and quickly returned to the kitchen to bring out the rest of the food.

When Natalie saw he had finished eating, she stood up to clear the table. The holidays were approaching, and Sebastian was busy too. He went upstairs for a meeting.

Natalie went to the kitchen to do the dishes.

By the time she finished, an hour had passed.

She paused to look at the roses Sebastian had given her. Spotting a vase in a cabinet, she took it to the bathroom, washed it, filled it with water, and arranged all the roses inside. She placed the vase on the coffee table in the living room. The flowers brought a touch of life to the house.

Natalie smiled faintly and went upstairs to rest. With nothing else to do that evening, she worked on a design sketch for a while before putting it away, getting ready for bed, and going to sleep.

When she woke up the next day, she again had the faint sensation that someone had been sleeping next to her, but she paid it no mind. For her, winter was the perfect time for hibernation. She had slept deeply and felt completely refreshed.
