Bye-bye Trash! Hello Queen! novel Chapter 850

She got up, washed her face, and went to the walk-in closet to get dressed for the day. The closet was filled with clothes Sebastian had bought for her. She picked out a comfortable, casual outfit. As she was changing, her phone, which she had placed nearby, started to ring.

She picked it up and saw the call was from the police station. She sighed softly. *Poor, foolish Evelyn Carrington.*

"Hello, is this Ms. Sanders?" It was the same kind-voiced police officer from before.

"This is she," Natalie replied.

"We need you to come down to the station again for questioning. The Wilson family has presented what they're calling substantial evidence. Ms. Sanders, they've already released it online, so please be careful when you head out. We've already sent a car to pick you up, but we couldn't find anyone at the address you provided last time. Can you give us your current location?"

The officer spoke calmly, clearly confident that Natalie wasn't a flight risk.

"There's no need to waste resources sending a car for me," Natalie said. "I'll drive myself over. I should be there in about fifteen minutes. Don't worry, I'm not going to run. I intend to resolve this matter fair and square."

"Alright. We trust you. We'll be waiting."

Natalie hung up and glanced at the news notifications on her phone.

Natalie was rendered speechless. The public always sided with the evidence. Thanks to Joanna and the Wilson family, her name was now infamous. And with Maxwell also looking for a chance to strike... This was just... what was she even supposed to think?

She picked up her phone and messaged Luna, asking her to come over and drive her to the police station. Just as she sent it, Marshall called. "Hello?"

"Sebastian, I told you last time, I don't need your help," Natalie interrupted him with a smile. "I can handle this myself."

"But—"

"No buts. If it's something I can solve on my own, I will. I won't trouble you with it. I'm leaving now. You should get to the office."

With that, Natalie turned and walked toward the door. Sebastian started to follow, but she stopped abruptly and looked back at him.

Sebastian raised an eyebrow. Was she going to refuse his help again?

But Natalie just smiled. "Mr. Griffith, since you know there's someone else behind Joanna, you should keep your distance from me. The only way to expose the person pulling the strings is to make Joanna believe you still care about her, that she can still benefit from you. What do you think?"
