And Natalie was going to treat Matthew to dinner.
Unconsciously, her focus had already shifted to other men.
Sebastian stood rooted to the spot, the crystal chandelier overhead making his features even more striking.
He clenched his fists, ultimately letting out a cold laugh.
"Heh..."
No matter what Matthew did, it wouldn't change the fact that Natalie was his wife.
And yet, besides that marriage certificate, it felt like there was truly nothing between them anymore.
Natalie whipped up a simple dinner for him.
Sebastian was usually not picky about dinner.
He preferred light meals, so Natalie made him some seared salmon with a side of roasted asparagus and a fresh garden salad.
She was good at these simple dishes and had often made them for Sebastian.
It was quick and easy. Forty minutes later, Natalie brought all the dishes to the table.
Without waiting for her to call him, Sebastian walked over and sat down. Seeing that they were all his favorite dishes, a pleased smile touched his lips.
He picked up his utensils and began eating the fragrant rice, his mood suddenly improving.
Natalie said, "Go ahead and eat. I'm going upstairs to take a shower."
Sebastian looked at her with a suggestive glint in his eyes. "Alright. Natalie, speaking of which, we still haven't... as a married couple..."
But Natalie had already bolted from the dining room.
She didn't give Sebastian a chance to finish his sentence.
Sebastian was left speechless.
"Haha..."
Watching Natalie's fleeing figure, he burst into happy laughter.
But then Sebastian frowned. Did he seem that desperate to her? Was that why she was so scared?
Sebastian's smile faded slightly. Still, being willing to try, even at the risk of losing face, was something.
As long as things could get better, what did it matter if it was slow?
"Sebastian, you finally answered my call! Are you really not going to help me? The movie has a hundred-million-dollar investment from you too. You don't want your own money to go down the drain, do you?"
Joanna was frantic. She had called Mr. Wilson, but the old man didn't answer her calls.
She hadn't dared to approach Mr. Wilson these past two days.
That old man had found out about her and Robert and was furious.
With Sebastian ignoring her, she had no choice but to swallow her pride and call him.
Joanna felt helpless. Ever since leaving the Scott family, nothing had gone right.
Sebastian frowned. "Do you think I care about that hundred million? Besides, I already told you today, whatever you do has nothing to do with me. Stop coming to me."
"Sebastian, can you really be so heartless? Don't forget, I saved your life..."
"I’ve repaid my debt to you ten times over. Don't use that 'hero' line on me again."
Joanna froze. Sebastian used to say those exact words to Natalie all the time. Now, hearing them directed at her felt utterly humiliating.
She yelled through her tears, "Sebastian, I'm asking you one last time, are you going to help me or not?"
