Robert chuckled. "Of course I do. Why wouldn't I?"
An icy glint appeared in Joanna's eyes. "Good. I'll come find you tomorrow."
*Robert, you were heartless to me, so don't blame me for being ruthless to you.*
She would use him as a stepping stone.
Robert replied, "Sure. Come to the villa."
Joanna hung up and lay back on the bed to rest.

After Natalie and Herbert finished lunch, she packed up three meals to bring back to the hospital.
First, she dropped one off for Susan, then she brought the others to Luna and Sean.
They were sharing a hospital room.
When Natalie entered with the food, she saw Sebastian was there, too. He was sitting on a stool next to Sean. In the heavy silence, he sat like a brooding monolith, his very silhouette etched with a profound, aching isolation.
Seeing Sebastian like this brought back memories of countless nights she had spent worrying about him.
His upbringing had been filled with nothing but hatred, with perhaps only the faintest warmth from Joanna to sustain him.
She didn't really mind when he had been good to Joanna.
Joanna had, after all, been there for him.
But when he and Joanna had framed her together, that was when she had become truly angry.
Sebastian was good to Sean, though, treating him like a true brother.
Natalie was a little surprised. "You haven't eaten dinner?"
Sebastian looked at the food in her hands and shook his head slightly, his voice a bit hoarse. "No."
She had brought back enough for three people.
Sean was still unconscious.
"You and Luna eat first. I'll buy something for Sean when he wakes up."
Sebastian saw her pleasant expression and felt a strange shift inside him.
Could it be that she no longer caredโฆ?
Looking at her indifferent demeanor, he suddenly gave a self-deprecating smile. The ultimate form of coldness was to simply ignore everything about the other person.
She glanced at Sebastian, hesitating.
"Okay," she nodded.
Natalie picked up her bag. "I'm leaving now."
As he watched her leave, Sebastian stood up and followed her out.
Luna shot a disdainful look at his back.
*Shameless.*
"Natalie," Sebastian called out to her. "You're exhausted today. Go home and rest first. You can prepare the medicine tomorrow."
He knew she was trying to avoid him.
He added deliberately, "I'll stay here tonight to look after Sean. I won't be going back for now."
Natalie's face was a blank mask. "I'm not tired. I'm going to the lab."
With that, she walked away. Her cold attitude was as frosty as a winter night.
Their roles had been completely reversed.
