Natalie now treated him with the same cold indifference he had once shown her.
Watching her vanish around the corner, Sebastian let out a dry, self-deprecating laugh. "Natalie, I know you too well. We'll definitely get back to how we were two years ago, when you took care of me and we were at peace."
He watched her step into the elevator before returning to the room.
Luna shot him a cold glare but said nothing.
Sebastian sat down and continued eating.
After finishing his dinner, Sebastian turned to Luna. "Luna, where is your sister's lab?"
Luna was indignant. "Why should I tell you? So you can find it and hurt my sister more? You've already hurt her enough today. I really don't understand why you won't just divorce her."
"My sister is an amazing person. Without you dragging her down, she would be much better off."
Sebastian's gaze was cold. Seeing Luna's furious expression, he knew he had been wrong before. "Luna, if someone makes a mistake, don't they deserve a chance to make up for it?"
"No. My sister doesn't even want her own mother. Why would she want a washed-up loser like you?"
"Mr. Griffith, you shouldn't cling to the past. The two years my sister took care of you were from the bottom of her heart, but it can't compare to the bond you have with your childhood sweetheart, Joanna. You should just let my sister go, hurry up and marry your first love. People are supposed to look forward, aren't they?"
She hadn't wanted to get involved before; her sister's affairs weren't her place to decide.
But what they had done today was too much.
"Mr. Griffith, just how much do you have to hurt my sister before you're willing to let her go?"
Luna desperately wanted to ask him why he was treating her sister this way.
"My sister saved your life, and you repay her kindness with cruelty. Mr. Griffith, you're the CEO of the Griffith Group, a graduate of a top business school. Why must you torment my sister?"
Sebastian's lips curved slightly. Why, indeed?
Because he couldn't let go.
Because he realized the truth too late.
She looked at him, puzzled. "Who told you that?"
Sebastian smiled faintly. "I overheard when your sister called you."
Luna was rendered speechless.
Then she got angry. "Mr. Griffith, you were eavesdropping on my sister's call?"
Sebastian shook his head. "It wasn't intentional. I just happened to overhear."
"So?" Luna had no idea what he was getting at.
He tried to coax her, knowing that Natalie would believe any conclusion Luna came to. "So, what happened today had nothing to do with me. I didn't give Joanna the design. It's a limited-edition design for my company. Why would I give it to her for a competition?"
"I'll give you a million dollars to investigate how Joanna got that design. If I investigate her, she'll be on her guard. But you're different. She won't suspect you."
Luna froze, feeling that Sebastian's motives weren't pure. "You're willing to investigate Joanna?"
