Instantly, the entire hall erupted into chaos as guests began murmuring among themselves.
Not only had this plain-looking young man infiltrated the banquet by disguising himself as a waiter, but he had also attempted to assassinate both Justin and Alyssa—heirs to elite families—using a blade.
The moment he injured even one of them, his life was effectively over. What on earth had driven him to gamble his future and his life so recklessly? And why had he accused Justin of murder and labeled Alyssa an accomplice?
There was simply too much shocking gossip being unleashed all at once. The guests could barely keep up.
At that moment, the hotel's entire security team swarmed into the hall. They moved to take the assailant away, but Jasper continued to pin the man to the ground, showing no intention of releasing him.
"Please hand him over to us. We'll take it from here. We wouldn't want you to get hurt," the head of security said politely as he approached Jasper.
However, Jasper remained unmoving, his icy gaze locked onto the man beneath him. The guards were left helpless. They clearly couldn't force the assailant out of Jasper's grasp.
"Lyse, it's too dangerous for you to be here… I'll get you out right now," Justin said through clenched teeth as he helped Alyssa to her feet, enduring the sharp pain shooting through his back.
"I have a question for you." Alyssa took a deep breath to steady herself and fixed her gaze firmly on the attacker. "Why did you call Mr. Justin a murderer and me an accomplice? Our records are spotless. We have never committed any illegal acts. In fact, Mr. Justin has spent years giving back to society through charity work.
"Not only did you injure Mr. Justin with a weapon, but you also incited public panic and slandered both of us. With all these crimes combined, aren't you afraid of spending the rest of your life rotting in prison?"
Jasper lifted his eyes, meeting Alyssa's gaze for a fleeting second before both of them looked away almost simultaneously.
His heart was racing. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't calm himself down.
Justin's calculating gaze swept over the attacker's hate-twisted face. In a gentle voice, he urged, "Lyse, leave him to the authorities. Let's get out of here first. We can figure out what to do later."
"Since you're injured, you may go ahead, Mr. Justin. I'm fine," Alyssa replied calmly. "I'll stay and clear this matter up with him."
Her expression was solemn, as though she were determined to seek justice for herself. In a stern voice, she pressed the assailant, "Talk. You owe me an explanation today.
"The Taylor family has always been upright and honest. We will not allow you to smear our name. Mr. Justin is being magnanimous by not pursuing this further, but I won't let it go. Otherwise, what will people think of the Taylor family?"
The darkness in Justin's eyes deepened. As he clenched his fist, a shard of broken glass embedded itself into his palm, blood seeping between his fingers. Even so, he didn't flinch.
"That incident had nothing to do with you," the man snarled. "But the fact that you're so close to Justin—partnering with him and standing by his side—means you're no better than he is. You deserve to go to hell too!"

Please give us a proper ending. I can't believe that we reached as far as chapter 2483 and the story is still hanging. We would love at least for Alyssa and Jasper to be reunited without hassles....
Can u post more chapters as promised for 7 chapters a day. Enjoyed the story very much. Hope all is well and thank you in advance....
HI. I am stuck on 2454 for over 3 months now. Will there be any more chapters or we just have to stop waiting for it and forget about this book....
seems to have come to a halt useless...
Where are the chapters please ? Over a week no updates....
Just tell me where to purchase the book I definitely will buy it...
Need more chapters please...
It’s dwindled down to 1 page a day??...
7 chapters a day would be great...
I am trying to figure out why an author writes one page and it is suppose to be a chapter and then the author gets the audience hooked on the story and just drags it on. Follow the rules please, and at least give the 7 chapters daily. Two chapters every other day is a waste of time. Or just release the book and give us the option to buy it....
