When Alyssa and Jasper returned to Heightsnew Villa that evening, Jonah, Silas, Rose, Liam, and Winston's wives were already waiting for them.

Jonah lowered his head, his eyes brimming with affection as he gently stroked the back of Alyssa's head. "Lyse can always rely on me and ask anything of me. She can act spoiled and throw as many tantrums as she wants. As far as I'm concerned, she'll never have to grow up."

Those words came straight from the bottom of his heart. In the entire family, Jonah was the one person who indulged Alyssa without limits or restraint.

Those five words—the Jasper of the past—felt like a dull blade twisting in everyone's chest. After all, they had all witnessed the earth-shattering depth of his love for Alyssa. Thinking about it now was both heartbreaking and cruel.

Even so, everyone had become increasingly hopeful. The fact that Jasper was willing to come home with Alyssa for a family dinner was already proof that their relationship had taken a significant step forward.

So what if he had forgotten her? Alyssa was extraordinary in every sense of the word. Any man would fall in love with her again and again throughout his lifetime.

Besides, Jasper hadn't truly forgotten Alyssa. He was simply ill for the time being. Once he recovered, everything would be alright again.

Watching the affectionate exchange between the siblings, Jasper found himself smiling faintly. The icy expression that usually lingered on his handsome face softened noticeably.

"I should start behaving myself from now on." Alyssa sniffled, the tip of her nose turning pink. Holding back the tears gathering in her eyes, she pouted. "Jonah isn't a single man anymore. He has Jul now. What if Jul gets jealous because I'm always clinging to him?"

"Wow. After hanging all over Jonah and rubbing against him like that, you finally remembered I exist."

Julien approached with his arms crossed.

Despite his sarcastic tone, his gaze toward Alyssa was filled with warmth and fondness.

"Honestly, if you were Jonah's younger brother, I wouldn't let you get anywhere near him. I'm only tolerating this because you're a woman."

Jonah burst into laughter, his eyes filled with tenderness as he looked at Julien.

"Thanks for your generosity then, my dear 'sister-in-law'!" Alyssa replied with an exaggerated curtsy, prompting a round of laughter in the room.

"Alright, enough standing around. Dinner's ready!"
