Chosen By The Cursed Alpha King (Emilia) novel Chapter 46

I paced the length of the room, biting my nails anxiously as I thought of every possible way I could get out of this room without being caught.

There was a guard outside the door and the king’s room was high from the ground. It seemed like there was no easy way for me.

A part of me was screaming that I should just let this go, and go to sleep but the curious part of me was eating me alive, and I knew that I won’t rest until 1 get the answers I wanted.

1 sighed in frustration as I walked to the window. The moon bled red and the sight of it made my skin prickles.

I looked down from the window and I could already feel the pain in my body even before jumping.

This is crazy Emilia, let this go. A voice whispered in my head but I was too stubborn to listen.

I need to know if that man from that night is the same as the king.

I took in a deep breath and before I could stop myself, l was already climbing out the window.

I looked down and the ground stared at me like a beast with a mouth ready to swallow me.

I could see the garden below me and that made it evenmore worse because when Thit the ground I knew I was going to be stabbed by angry little sticks.

“No pain, na gain.” I whispered to myself and before I could think it through, I threw myself down.

It’s not like I’ll die anyway.

I landed on the ground with a thud and I had to cover my mouth in order to stop the scream that threatened to tear out of me.

Goddess that was fucking painful. Pain shot up my sides that for a moment I had to close my eyes as dark circles danced in front of me.

“Shit,” I-cursed under my breath as I removed the stick hanging in my hair, throwing it like it personally offended me.

I didn’t waste time, I stood up groaning as I dusted dirt off my clothes then I looked left and right to make sure there was anybody in sight.

Clear. –

I immediately turned towards the direction of the same door the king had taken earlier today that led to that room.

My heart was pounding so loud in my chest I feared that it was going to give me away.

The night was eerily quiet like everyone and everythingwas scared of breathing.

reached the door and slowly pushed it open.

This is your chance to abort this mission, go back and maybe tell the guard you fell off the window by accident.

Of course, he won’t suspect a thing. Yeah, right.

I think it’s too late to be turning back now.

With that in mind I walked through the door, closing it behind me and was immediately swallowed in darkness.

For a moment I just stopped trying to listen for any sound.

I twisted the pin in the lock until I finally heard a click.

Now the door was open, the only thing standing between me and the truth I could find inside this room.

Do it.

Don’t do it.

Do it.

The words kept repeating in my head like a mantra. My hand was already on the doorknob just one push and the door would open.

I released a shaky breath and then slowly, very slowly, l pushed the door open.

And immediately, angry black eyes met mine. And a furious growl left its mouth as the beast tried to charge towards me, struggling against the chains and I just stood there.

My heart slammed against my chest. The beast.

The beast from that night, just the way I had found him, chained. Only this time, he looked angrier.

And I did the most stupid thing anyone in my position could have done.

I raised my hand and waved.

“Hi, we meet again.” I whispered, even as every instinct in me screamed I’d just signed my own death warrant.
