(Ari)

I was being followed. I didn’t have to look behind me to know that. The orientation still started and ended without much trouble despite a few minutes of interruption when the Prince deliberately paused midway just to look at a certain somebody who unfortunately happened to be me. Thanks to that, I wasn’t able to process as much information as I wanted.

I was distracted.

Since my mates were sitting in different directions, I felt like I was being pulled from different directions as well.

“Alpha Ari Gray?”

I’d seen the guy who called me. He was one of His Highness’ escorts. He blocked my path just when I was about to head to the dining hall.

My forehead creased. “Yes?”

“My name is Daniel Moran,” he said as he handed me his card. “I work as the prince’s second-in-command. His Highness wants to talk to you.”

“It’s lunch time.”

I could already tell what this was about. But didn’t they care about the time? Where were their hearts? We could all talk, argue, or piss each other better with our stomachs full. And I hadn’t had a full stomach in a long time. The breads wouldn’t suffice. I needed meat. Lots of it.

Daniel looked offended as if he was expecting me to just nod my head. Then again, maybe not many people were stupid enough to go against a prince’s order. Just me.

“His Highness wants to talk to you,” he repeated, his voice now stern.

“And I told you it is lunch time. I will find him once I am done with my meal-“His wolf growled I smiled brightly at him. “That was what the other alphas would have told you. Not me though. I always strive to be way, my good sir.”

I followed Daniel back to the auditorium. We entered through the door which had more

zen. Please lead the

unding it.

I had to strain my neck just to be able to meet their eyes. I was five foot and eight inches, but these giants were all above six feet. Daniel opened the door. And of course, I had no choice but to step in. I paused when I saw who was waiting for me inside.

And then without thinking, I quickly took a step back and shut the door.

“What do you think you are doing, Gray?” Daniel scowled like he was itching to snap my neck.

And maybe that was a better fate than being trapped with those three alphas. He wouldn’t understand. He wasn’t the receiver of the murderous stares from the people inside.

“Do you know that making a joke out of royalty could get you killed? Now get inside and don’t make His Highness want any more for you before I kill you myself.”

“Calm down. There is no need to talk about death here. I was only testing the door,” I said as I patted the solid wooden door I took a deep breath. “Now that I realize it’s working just fine unlike most doors I know, then I will I swallowed. “Head inside. So, please excuse-”

Before I could rumble on, the door opened by itself, revealing Shitty who impatiently dragged me inside through my collar. He closed the door, leaving the four of us in this tiny space.

“Here he is,” he announced as he removed my bull cap.

By the looks of it, these alphas were already familiar with each other judging by how relaxed their wolves were with each

other.

Sebastian remained standing behind me, guarding the door, as if he was preparing to block it if I attempted to run. Shitty underestimated my will to live. Did he think I would try to escape with the three of them around me? One look was all it took for me to see how much power they held. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that these three were among the most powerful alphas in this realm.

The prince was sitting on the couch directly in front of me while Professor Bradley Laurent sat on the divan on my left. His name was the only thing that registered to me when the professors were introduced one by one. He was staring at me with his cold, dismissive eyes while holding a cup of tea in his hand. Or was it really tea when I could smell blood in there as well?

Their combined scents were filling my nostrils. Spicy and woodsy. And as much as I hated to admit it, the scent was getting to me, affecting me in ways I hadn’t felt before. I secretly used more of my mana and amplified the glamour as the mate bond between us howled louder than before.

When I regained my senses, I put my right hand over my left shoulder and lowered my head. “Greetings, Your Highness.”

‘Lift your head, Gray. I want to see your face properly,” the prince demanded instead.

His voice was low, dark, and dripping with seduction and power at the same time. He was only telling me to look at him and yet, it sounded like he was inviting me to his bed.
